Deftones – Back to School (Mini Maggit) Lyrics 18 years ago
Deftones themselves actually hate this song. They only made it because their record label wanted them to release an extra single that was "heavier" and dealt with the teen angst that's popular on MTV.

From an interview with Chino:

"Back To School was a mistake. A calculated song, that had been built up with only one aim in mind: It should be a single."

"Back to School was released because I was an idiot. I wanted to prove something (to the record company). Months later, after White Pony was released, they wanted us to do a new version of Pink Maggit. They said we lost our heaviness, and there were no more singles on the album. First, I wanted to stick this idea up my ass, but then I thought: "I'm gonna show those fuckers how easy it is to create a hit-single". And so I rapped a hip hop part on that song, we shortened it and half an hour later, the hit-single was ready to roll on."

Insane Clown Posse – 12 Lyrics 18 years ago
The meaning of this song is completely a contradiction. Apparently, it is wrong for a jury to sentence Violent J to death (even though it's for murder), but then it's okay and justified for him to hunt them down and murder them in revenge. All this says is that violence should be used to solve violence.

Cannibal Corpse – Necropedophile Lyrics 18 years ago
watchmedie85, not every movie with violence "has a lesson" that "proves a point". Look at Dawn of the Dead, Hostel, Rob Zombie's films, or practically any horror film. I don't recall any of them ever having any "messages" or "morals". They were just violent for the sake of violence. And most of those films opened successfully at the box office without too much commotion (Hostel was #1 just last month). I understand that you might have concern about shock-violence music (that's pretty much the entire purpose of it: to cause shock). But as quiffporn said, advocating censorship and taking away freedom of speech is a bit crossing the line.

"If you are going to object to anything, object to the fact that Cannibal Corpse have recorded the same fucking song about a thousand."

Haha, I'll have to admit that's very true.

The sound in the opening is a berimbau, which is a Brazilian string/percussion instrument. Max Cavalera actually played it himself during live performances of the song.

I noticed how you like to insult the intelligence of juggalos and juggalettes. Like Eminem's fans are any better. The intelligence of one person is not affected by the music that they listen to. As a matter of fact, ICP holds more of a purpose than Eminem. Eminem is here to develop some character ("The Slim Shady LP," "The Marshall Mathers LP,") and talk about his lifestyle ("The Eminem Show," "Encore"). If I wanted to see a character developed and go through life, I would read a book or pick up a comic and fire away. Check out some of the comments on Eminem's page and tell me that they are not as stupid as we are. You also want us to watch the movie "White Boys," probably impressing the idea that you're a racist. Either that or a wife-beater. After all, isn't that what Eminem promotes? You know, only before begging for forgiveness for his actions ("Encore"), even after repeatedly stating that he "just don't give a fuck" ("The Slim Shady LP," "The Marshall Mathers LP)"? Not all ICP fans act "badass," by the way. So how are we juggalos anymore badass than Eminem? You don't think the mainstream has a larger effect than the underground? Besides, Eminem is the poster boy for the San Quentin State Prison.

By the way, your theory sucks.

I guess you promote a communism or some sort of overprotective government because all songs have to rhyme or else they automatically suck. You didn't write an ICP song; you wrote to us how well of an understanding you have of music. Like most other people out there, you listen to mainstream, and mainstream isn't supposed to have a meaning. It's there for the hell of it. Like Violent J once said, only %10 of their songs have messages. The rest is about having fun. Fun, you ask? Yes, fun. Should I give you the definition? Hell no, you don't deserve it. But, here, I'll give you a link: www.dictionary.com

You claim that you came here because someone told you to. So you are now a doormat, but tell us that you're a free-thinker because you can write a song that only a goth such as yourself could come up with? This song comes from their highest-rated album (4/5 stars according to AMG), and yet you're sitting here telling us they're full of BS? I guess you lack good judgement of music, go back to listening to Eminem's latest "masterpiece," "Encore."

I do not require Albert Einstein to write a song with all of his theories and tell me it is good music. I do not judge a song because it is "genius." But, then again, I guess you wouldn't know what it's like to be explorative because you're still living in the era of Stalin, where communism and lack of capacity for free thought reigned supreme."

I noticed that in most of your post, you ignored JackBlackout and lahdeefrigginda's arugments completely and automatically went on to accuse them of listening to "meaningless mainstream music" and Eminem even though NEITHER OF THEM EVER MENTIONED EMINEM AT ALL. It seems that Juggalos have some sort of paranoid hatred of Eminem and always bring him up to insult even when it is completely irrelevant.

lahdeefrigginda lists Beastie Boys, John Frusciante, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, and Sublime (notice, NOT EMINEM) as her favorite artists. Though I'm not particularly a fan of any of those bands, I can safely say that their lyrics have much deeper meanings than any of ICP's. Just take this song for example. It sounds like it was written by a 12 year old who just learned the word "fuck" and is yelling it out as many times as possible. I'll admit, a FEW of ICP's songs do have meanings but even then, they are usually childishly simplistic ones such as "OMFG FUXX0R TEH REDNECKS ROFLMAO" or "NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME F ALL U FAGS OMGPWNEDLOL!!!!!" or "WTF RICH PEOPLE R TEH SUCK LOLOLOL!!!$%^&!^@&*!!" Even Green Day’s “American Idiot” lyrics sound more intelligent and sophisticated. If you love “deep and meaningful” music then listen to prog rock or something, not this trailer trash crap. And ICP are not the most BRUTAL or HARDCORE band either. If you want offensive lyrics, go look up Anal Cunt, GG Allin, Pungent Stench, and Agoraphobic Nosebleed.

Furthermore, ICP is not “underground”. They claim that they don’t want to “sell out” and are “down with the clown” but in reality, it’s just a lame cover-up for the fact that they’re not good enough for mainstream record labels. In fact, ICP have at times been signed to Jive Records, Island Records, and even Hollywood Records, which is owned by Disney (not quite “underground” and “anti-mainstream” anymore, eh?). All of these labels eventually kicked them off because they sucked, so they had to go back to their old Psychopathic Records. As for the fact that ICP received a 4/5 for their album at AMG, it means absolutely nothing. AMG hands out good reviews like candy; they also gave 4’s and 5’s to albums by NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, etc. And for the record, whoever listed ICP on that site as “rap-metal” and compared them to KISS and GWAR needs to be shot in the crotch immediately.

Finally, you tried to sound “smart” and “intellectual” by repeatedly comparing lahdeefrigginda to communism. I find this a bit humorously ironic: considering ICP’s rich people and redneck-bashing attitudes, their views are probably not much different from those of leftist, progressive, and anti-capitalist political groups. I’m assuming that you meant to use the term “totalitarianism”.

Katyushas were rocket launchers used by the Red Army during World War II. The Germans called them "Stalin's Organs" because they looked kind of like pipe organs. I'm guessing that the lyrics are about the defeat of the Nazis in the war. Awesome song.

Papa Roach – Getting Away With Murder Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with preppyemogurl. There are too many damn music artists attempting to be "political" nowadays. It's as if they think it actually makes a difference.

And is it just me or does EVERY FUCKING MAINSTREAM ROCK BAND have at least one anti-Bush song by this point? And most of them say the EXACT SAME SHIT: Bush is Hitler, the war was for oil, stop killing Iraqi babies, some gay paficism crap, blah blah blah. If they want to do a political song, then at least try to be original.
