I don't like this song, (a little background, I'm from Kansas, so any reference to the Wizard of Oz drives me crazy). That said, every other song by Breaking Benjamin is amazing.

Tool – Sober Lyrics 18 years ago
The video is a portrayal of several Edgar Allen Poe stories. The more prevalent ones are The Tell-Tale Heart (where the man hides the heart of someone he has killed under the floor and hears it still beating so he keeps checking it until he goes crazy), and The Cask of Amontillado (where a man is chained to a wall then a brick wall is built around him, essentially burying him alive). I am sure there are more Poe references, but I did not catch any more blatant than those two.

It seems to me that when you combine what others have said about the lyrics and what the video is about, the song is about a person being haunted by their past, most likely guilt for a past crime (sin?). Both of the Poe stories main characters are haunted by guilt. The man in the Tell-Tale heart believes that he is hearing the heartbeat of the man he killed (it was actually his own heart) that he reveals his crime. The man who buried the other man alive in The Cask of Amontillado revealed his crime on his deathbed, after letting it stew and haunt him his entire life.

So its about being haunted by your past, in my opinion.

Disturbed – Land of Confusion (Genesis cover) Lyrics 18 years ago
The music video is like a musical animated version of the movie V for Vendetta. Just my impression. Why the hell is the power behind all of the worlds problems a cash filled gigantic Winston Churchill, btw. anyway

the end of the video when everyone holds their fist in the air is 10000 fists

Yeah but the video version is only 2:54, while the album version is shortened to 2:31. This song is the shortest on the album.

anyone know why the album version is shorter than this version of the song. The video version is longer also.

I don't understand why they would shorten a great song like this.

Flyleaf – Sorrow Lyrics 18 years ago
A lot of these lyrics are wrong. The correct lyrics are:

"Sometimes life seems to quiet into paralyzing silence
Like the moonless dark, meant to make me strong.
Familiar breath of my old lies
Changed the color in my eyes
Soon he will perferate the fabric of the peaceful by and by

Sorrow lasts through this night
I'll take this piece of you, and hold for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole... as you flew right through me.

Left alone with only reflections of the memory
To face the ugly girl that's smothering me.
Sitting closer than my pain...
He knew each tear before it came,
And soon he will perforate the fabric of the peaceful by and by

We kiss each other one more time
And sing this lie that's half way mine
The sword is slicing through the questions so I won't be fooled
By his angel light..

Sorrow lasts through this night
I'll take this piece of you and for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole as you flew right though me
and up into the stars
Joy will come.
"
These lyrics are directly off of flyleaf's website.

As for this song, personally, it is my favorite off the album. Flyleaf rocks.

Metallica – Don't Tread On Me Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with everyone here.

The first time I heard this song, I thought it was about the end of the Cold War (But I also thought they were saying SOVIET, not so be it). Everyones interpretation makes a lot of sense.

But I entertained the thought of the Cold War, since it ended in '91 about the same time the song came out.

"To secure peace is to prepare for war. " means the nuclear arms race and the idea of mutually assured destruction as a deterrent to war.

Dont tread on me sounds like they are mocking the Soviets for losing the war.

The snake implies pure evil and the Soviet Union was portrayed as evil in the US media and propaganda.

"Never Begins it, never, but once engaged" means that the two sides never actually fought each other, and the one time they actually fought was in Berlin, even though no shots were fired, they did battle over how Germany would be divided.

"Never surrenders," means that the Soviets never officially surrendered, but their government and economy collapsed.

Yeah thats about it. I know this is all wrong because it has been disproven above, but this was my thought on the song.
