| i find this song to be a sort of paradox...it's like happiness can bring you down in a way that's why the girl in the song kept running from it...like being in love can keep you from being successful since you're so infatuated and distracted. also how she sings "leave all your love and your longing behind if you want to survive" like you can't let your feelings interfere or meddle in your affairs. yet at the same time, happiness is a great feeling at the same time and allows the "dog days" to be over. | |
