over time every mainstream label that was at one time somewhat "independent" merged into five different labels that now control everything you hear on they radio. they are warner, EMI, sony, universal, and bmg this refers to the dominance of all major labels, and their tendency to "absorb" labels that are doing fairly well by merges, deals etc interesting note: while this was written there were those five corperations. right now theres only four (yes four!) because sony merged with bmg. :O |
