u no what the first few songs do? 1s just an intro thing or w/e but #2s like "who will take the blame" then #3 goes "were all to blame" then this songs "cause im the one to blame" lol jhust somthin i noticed.......lol anyway i love this song its WICKED!!!!!!!! and ya i think it is bout drug usage..... k this is HOW it REALLLLLY goes: this JOS kid leaves home (the suburbs) and stops caring bout everything. then he goes to the city and in blvd of broken dreams hes walking and hes content but not fully satisfied BUT if u read all the words this is when hes caught between St. Jimmy and jesus. in are we the waiting hes turning into st jimmy. st jimmy is a druggy and in give me a nov. JOS is unsre bout it but jimmys like its ok anyway then they meet a girl and she breaks up with him. then she sends him a letter(letterbomb) telling him pretty much about his own self. she says "ur not the jesus of suburbia the st jimmy is a figment of ur fathers rage and ur mothers love" i take that this meaNs that his skytzophrania is caused by everything he went thru at home. then he just wants to sleep away the rest of the month. then JOS is talking bout st jimmy, and everything hes done for JOS, but jimmy says "were fucked up" and JOS says "but were not the same and mum an dad ar the ones u can blame" then jos kills ST Jimmy in his mind and becomes just Jimmy. then JOS or jimmy w/e u wanna call him, he gets sent off to a mental institution. he hates it ther and wants OUT. finally he is released. then he remembers how he waited and waited for his gf to come. but she didnt show up and hes wondering wher she went. next he recieves a letter from "tunny" and hes all ya my life rocks. he knows he needs to go home now and he does. but TWO people go home, i think its JOS and Jimmy. but anyway they go back home. this story ends with JOS remembering whasername, trying to forget her and trying to forget all his regrets. this is how u knoe its skytzo: in #7 it constantly switches from st jimmys view 2 JOSs view. in are we the waiting "the jesus of suburbia is a lie" in blvd of broken dreams "im walkin down the line THAT DIVIDES ME SUMWHER IN MY MIND" and "whats fucked up and everythings alright" (the 'virus' is often refered 2 as "fucked up") in st jimmy "the product of war and peace" "raised in the city" in letterbomb "ur not the jesus of suburbia the st jimmy is a figment of ur fathers rage and ur mothers love" (aka the virus was caused by evrything he went thru at home) in death of st jimmy for one thing, hes gotten rid of st jimmy hes standin all alone and he wants whatsername 2 call him if shes gunna come home. but anyway "jimmy died today he blew his brains out into the bay in the state of mind OF MY OWN PRIVATE SUICIDE" "he says 'were fucked up' but were not the same and mom an dad are the 1s u can blame" in homecoming it says WERE coming home. not Im coming home it says "were the ones going home" it switches views in that song it says "theyr bak in the barrio" but then rite after "but to YOU and ME thats jingletown thats HOME" ya.....so it is skytzophrania i think anyways. |

uhhh are u sure its skitzo? ive tooken this in2 consideration but i think it goes like this: ok this is how i THINK it goes. AMERICAN IDIOT:JOS is talkin bout modern america and the government and politics and stuff JESUS OF SUBURBIA: PART I- JESUS OF SUBURBIA:hes introducing himself as a typical average joe whos isolated himself and thinks hes like a jesus from the suburbs. PART II- CITY OF THE DAMNED:the regular hangout spot for JOS(which is the center of the earth aparently) is parking lot 7-11. JOS is considering leaving his life behind and when he reads "the center of the earth is the end of the world" this confirms to him that he should leave his normal life for the city. he also observes poor kids with dirty faces and comes to the fact that no one really cares. PART III- I DONT CARE: JOS stops caring about everything and decides that everyone is full of shit. He also figures out no one in his make believe world believes in him and he dont care anymore. PART IV- DEARLY BELOVED: i think its a memory or something like that about when dearly beloved was talkin but he wasnt listenin then he's wondering if hes retarded or overjoyed or demented or disturbed. he's also accepting that he's accused for making mistakes and his excuse is "for the lack of a better word" PART V- TALES OF ANOTHER BROKEN HOME:he decides to leave behind all the lies and to run away and find what to believe. this is when he leaves home. HOLIDAY:hes observing whats around him where he is now (the sounds of the rain and dogs howling) and talking, again, about the government BOULAVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS: basicly hes walkin along the streets but im not even gonna explain this one its pretty obvious ARE WE THE WAITING: JOS is wondering about his life and what hes waiting for and maybe finally accepting he's not really the jesus of suburbia. ST. JIMMY: jos meets this drug dealer named jimmy. his nickname is st. jimmy. st jimmy tells jos hes so great and stuff and he's like the leader of a gang or something. he's the needle in the vein of the establishment. GIVE ME A NOVACAINE: st jimmy gives jos drugs. jos likes them cuz they make everything alright. SHE'S A REBEL: jos meets this rebel of a girl that he falls in love with. EXTRAORDINARY GIRL-again with this girl. she's refered to as whatshername. i think this is the story of how she was lonely, met jos, they dated, then she broke up with him. LETTERBOMB: remember this song starts with a nobody likes you chapter, possibly again, reflecting how whatsername left him. i think this is when jos sends st jimmy a letter. i think its to st jimmy because #1- at the beginin it says Dear J- #2-"the town bishop's an extraordinest and he don't even know that you exist." i think maybe st jimmy fled cuz the cops were after him for being a dealer. "to stand still is to die. ya better run 4 ur fuckin' life. its not over til ur underground. its not over b4 its too late. this citys burnin 'its not my burden' its not over b4 its too late" then he also tells him about how whatsername left him. "she said i cant take this town im leaving it behind.' she said 'i cant take this place im leaving you tonight.' " ya i think thats what happens here but i mite b wrong. WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS: jos feels terrible and just wants to sleep the whole month away. HOMECOMING: PART I-DEATH OF ST JIMMY: jos is telling st jimmy how he taught him to live in shame and how great he is but then he leaves him. u can tell by "jimmy died today. he blew his brains out into the bay in the state of mind of my own private suicide." realy st jimmy died in his mind and he left st jimmy and the drugs. PART II-FACILITY ON EAST 12TH STREET: this is either the looney place or a job but he wants outta there! but he knows if he leaves he'll soon be back with a crowd like jimmys agan. PART III- NOBODY LIKES YOU: agan hes remebering how whatsername broke up with him and how he waited and waited. PART IV- ROCK N ROLL GIRLFRIEND:jos gets a letter from a desiple saying how much his life rocks and how much of a good time it is for him(this was obviously written by tre) and this makes him feel ever wrose about his life. PART V-WERE COMIN HOME: finaly jos(and his buddies/disciples) goes bak home. the world is "spinning round" cuz thers so much going on iin his mind. WHATSERNAME: jos is sitting there thinking about trying not to think about her again. hes trying to forget her and all his regrets. im not saying this is the right interpretaion but its what i got out of it. -Me |
