I Hate Myself – The Lightning Says Lyrics

I've got to reiterate that the latter lyric is just "love me too". When you put the "I" in front of it, it could change the intent a little bit. Ray Sullivan, as you probably know was struck by lightning 7 times. The song is called "The Lightning Says". This is the lighting telling Ray "I love you, love me too". If I were hardpressed to delve into this song any farther than this is what the lightning is saying, I would say that this song is about accepting things that you can't help. I usually hate it when people try to pick apart songs too deeply though.

This whole record is really great. I agree with everyone that "Sex and Candy" was overplayed. This is my favorite song off the album. It slays me when he sings "mom". Maybe he feels really lost and he thinks of his mother.

I really like this song. I think its about a girl who's husband died at war. Its winter time and she just wants the season to pass. The war overseas is just the "radio war" but for Sara it means a lot more because she lost a loved one. I like how the war is personified as a "beast" with "red talons".

That sucks your boyfriend has this stance on your relationship. The song is definitely honest though; he's admitting he's unsure. I really love this song; its probably my favorite from the record. I like the guitar during the "Sarah" parts especially.

This song is very sexual. "Honey Dripping Bee Hive" alludes to that part of a the female anatomy. The "Plastic Toy" that he wants to be might substitute for the girl's "toy". A few other lyrical clips support this idea. All together its an awesome song though.
