| The Janis Joplin version is better. It has way more emotion and captures the essence of the song. I like the less literal meaning of this song, as in I know I've done some crumbly stuff to you, and cheated, but I wasn't in the right state of mind, and still aren't. However, I will get myself together, and please wait for me, and when I do, I will devote myself to you....great song, no matter how you interpret it. | |

This song means someone is leaving and you're in love with them and want to say words to make them stay. My version of the first part of the song is like this. "You leaving, and I'm o.k. with it, but wait,...wait, can't thing of words to make you stay". The part "they don't love you like I love you" means no one could love them like you do. When she says "my kinds your kind, I'll stay the same" she means I love you and I will always love you without end. My version of the last verses are like "o.k....just go stay in touch",...wait..(can't think of words to make you stay)....no one can love you like I love you, and I always will. |
