| I can't really help with those first two lines -- I've tried, but I just can't wrap my mind around the metaphor. That's probably why those two lines bug me so much! I agree that this is a great song, though. My favorite part: "I guess it's been a good year, for roses and aggressions, for flowers and freeways. I guess I'll put a smile on, or get a new girlfriend, ya put a new hat on." Now *that* I get. All too well. | |

| The words are definitely RT. I laughed out loud at "I don't wanna have to pay for this" -- it hits so close to home! I've always loved the lyrics of his songs, and I love the lyrics of this one. The music...is a bit boy-band, and initially I didn't care for the song. But I can deal with it. If he didn't try out different things once in a while, the music would get stale. (Admittedly, I'm more forgiving because the rest of the album isn't like this.) | |
