Teddy Geiger – For You I Will (Confidence) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I first heard this song the other day. It is mostly sweet. I Black Maria had her part that bothers her, the cannonball into the water kind of sets me off, it doesn't fit so well. |
Ani DiFranco – Half-Assed Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is my favorite on the excellent Reprieve. This section here I just wanna tune out all the billboards weld myself a mental shield I just wanna put down all the pressures and feel how I really feel I cried when I heard it the first time, because it was so carthatic. This is another of those Ani songs where you feel like it is a rebuke and an exhortation at the same time. |
Audioslave – Original Fire Lyrics | 18 years ago |
WAHOOOOOOOOOAHHHHH! Audioslave is awesome. I love this song. |
The Perishers – Sway Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song keeps me calm during the rough patches. The music is beautiful and lilting and helps to remind me to find the calm still place deep inside even if it seems like the world around has gone mad. At one point this song was super personal and made me hope for building a better relationship with a friend that I had hoped to be more than that too. As time went on and that seems more unlikely, the song has helped as I turned more inward. It seems like my life is a real mess and this song helps since I feel not alone when I listen to it. I don't want to hurt you I don't want to make you sway, like I used to When I sing those lines to myself it's a reminder to accept but not give in to the negative aspects of my own emotions. This song is super hopeful to me. Truly wonderful. |
David Ford – State of the Union Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I heard this song for the first time today, pretty good stuff. It is a damn shame. |
Relient K – Who I Am Hates Who I've Been Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I adore this song..There are so many levels that this song works on. |
U2 – Love and Peace or Else Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love the lyrics of this song, but don't care for the music on this one. |
U2 – Original of the Species Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I I love U2. They are some of the most evocative music I have heard. This is my favorite song on this album. Baby slow down Kind of like smell the roses.. The end is not as fun as the start How idealism gets chipped away by the harshness of life Please stay a child somewhere in your heart Don't let the bastards get you down I’ll give you everything you want Solace, love, comfort Except the thing that you want reminder to be careful what we wish for I don't know what the stealing under the door is about though. |
U2 – Elevation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is my favorite least favorite U@ song.. The music, great, the mole, diging in the soul.. And the time frame it was released, for me, and what was going on, not realizing that people you are close to are completely diametrically opposed to what you believe... Now that time has passed, I still like the sing, like I said, the music is wonderful, but it's a song with an edge to it for me because all that was happening that I didn't see when it came out and then what happened that. |
The Fiery Furnaces – I'm in No Mood Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love the no mood to comb my hair. Kind of like, f* off world, I am going to walk out the door looking however I want. I like it, kind of call to be true to self. The thing about pins in the head. I don't know the intent.. Did they mean the pinhead guy? Or is it the pain of being in a place where so much happens that is no fun for anyone. |
The Posies – Dream All Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I loved this song when it came out and still do now. When I was younger, to me this song was about all the dreams that got put on hold becuase of circumstance. Now that I am older, and more comfortable with my place in the world, I think about the world I want for my children, and the line about a grey mouth makes me think about the way you hope for the best for your kids, but know that the world is changing rapidly and being a dreamer of a better way. Your take on it is interesting though. |
Shakira – Hips Don't Lie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the-fool said : Its a great song and all, but whats the whole "No fighting, no fighting" thing about? I think it's saying that those with common interests shouldn't fight amongst themselves. Easier said than done... |
Recoil – Luscious Apparatus Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this is a cautionary tale to woman, never let a good dicking mess up your head! More seriously It's sad to think of all the women that don't get away and get exploited by men. |
Trace Adkins – Honky Tonk Badonkadonk Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I heard this song by accident, and it's been stuck in my head ever since. It's fun. |
Margot & the Nuclear So and So's – Skeleton Key Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think the skeleton key is saying that although he hurt her, he put her in better place because she was exposed to more than she knew before and she was free to be a skeleton key and open the doors of her own life. I think the you've gotta let me know shows that although he realizes they both got hurt, she's got let him know she's alright and maybe let im know that she is still willing to try with him? The music in this is wonderful, the swirling of the strings and the sound of impact in the beats towards the end. Brings the impact home. |
Gnarls Barkley – Just a Thought Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I heard this song for the first time this morning driving to work It's pretty powerful. These lines Life is a one way street aint it? If you could paint it, I would draw myself going in the right direction. pure poetry |
Radiohead – Optimistic Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think that this song is perfect it has all this imagery where from one point of view, could be very harsh, big fish eat the little ones, fodder for an animal farm but yet the chorus and the music are hopeful. A reminder that even when the way is dark, keep going and do what you can. |
Jack Johnson – Upside Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I adore this song. |
Less Than Jake – History Of A Boring Town Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I like this song. Especially because I am contemplating moving after having been somewhere for 14 years. Except that I wouldn't say that the crowd has brought me down. I have met a lot of interesting people in my boring town, but still want to leave. Sleepy Jean has a great take on this! |
U2 – Bad Lyrics | 18 years ago |
If I could, you know I would If I could, I would Let it go I've changed, to me this represents the feeling that there are things that you have to accomplish. This desperation Dislocation Separation Condemnation Revelation In temptation Isolation Desolation Let it go It's perfect |
Yellowcard – Lights and Sounds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
So not a hipster, I had heard this song once a few months back, and then just found out band name.. I really adore this song.. The one thing that gets me, is the I've got a way to work this out part, if it's a given, why the need to sing about it, apparently some sort of failure to communicate.. I just cracks me up that part, but the slow burn, let it all fade out, may be one of the best lines in any song I've heard recently.. This song is definitely one to jump too.. |
Lamb – Stronger Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I like the lyrics, but for how beautiful her voice is, the beat is a little heavy. I think I wish I had an acoustic mix of this one. To me, this is definitely a rainy day so sad I don't even want to eat ice cream because that entails actually getting up to get it and I'd rather sit and be comfortably numb. However I have it on of my Itunes playlists. But anyway. Happy Valentines Day Although there are times you want to say come on get real, without the realationship you are diminshed? Strange because she existed before then and made it through. I guess it depends on how whiny I am at the time I hear this song.. |
John Hiatt – Cry Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
A great song for a lonely Valentines day To me this song is one that reminds better to love and lose than never love. This song is so good, depending on my mood, it either is like a song that puts it's arms around me to let me cry, or is a song reminding me that I made it through another day and to learn the lesson. |
Natasha Bedingfield – Unwritten Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I like this song Beautiful sentiments |
Horrorpops – Emotional Abuse Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Perfect song for being all alone on Valentines Day A song that really clears the past right out of your head I dig it |
U2 – City of Blinding Lights Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song. Depending my mood, oh you look so beautiful in the city of blinding lights can be sweet and tender or a left-handed compliment.. This song live was very cheeky. |
Kanye West – Heard 'Em Say (feat. Adam Levine) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I adore this song. |
Common – I Used To Love H.E.R. Lyrics | 18 years ago |
To me it's about the importance of the decision of who and what you surround yourself with. And the importanceof getting out gracefully once you realize that the crowd you are running with is trying to run you... |
DMX – Catz Don't Know Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is song is a very powerful narative of a street reality that although familiar in aaspects, seems very far removed from my suburban life. I like the last two lines the most. |
Tracy Bonham – Mother Mother Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song live OWNS.. Tracy is Amazing! |
Depeche Mode – Walking In My Shoes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song, to me, it's a hymn, the message, judge not for you'll be judged. I think it's a reminder to also open our eyes to compassion when we see other individuals. Imagine walking in the shoes of those that society likes to sweep under the rug, could you walk in their shoes and not stumble? This song is very very good on many levels. |
Depeche Mode – Condemnation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Feel elation High To know I can trust this Fix of injustice Time after time I agree with the overall meaning that Trent posted. I think that the fix of injustice part is truly truly inspired. Like there is a self correcting feature of the world that exerts itself. |
Tracy Bonham – Behind Every Good Woman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Behind every good woman lies A trail of men. a trail of men You wouldn't believe the mess she's in This song used to be funny, kind of like Shania's Man I Feel like a Woman.. BUT today.. not so amusing.. |
Tracy Bonham – Mother Mother Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song sure can keep you from falling over the edge.. I love her growl.. EVERYTHING"S FINE! |
Avengers – We Are The One Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love this song, phuc labels with a postive message.. |
Heather Nova – Sugar Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think that I liked this song when it first came out, and now I've lived a little more, and I like it even more. |
Audioslave – Dandelion Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Hmm I don't get what hellswindstaff says about this song out it at all.. I think that way when I hear Sugar by Heather Nova, or Tiptoe by Ani D. But this song, not so much.. Interesting thoughts there.. I do like the way Chris has the Seasons come and Seasons go, because that is the song that started my Cornell fandom for sure.. And the inside of OoE says that he ahs daughters. |
Audioslave – The Worm Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Was a time early in life When I hated everything Born too young, top of my lungs Born to young, I wondered if one of the band members had a preemie baby they worried over, and also thought about the growth from child to adult, and losing innocence traumatically.. Born to young, when you realize Sitting on the bottom rung That line made me wonder if Chris reads Ken Wilber, I thought about the spiral of conciousness development that Wilber talks about and the ladder allusion that Wilber uses to illustrate what can go wrong if a rung is damaged at a key developmental level. Took advice from the wrong shoulder That one's obvious, Took a lot of everything About being more likely to yield than to fight back, you end up taking a lot of BS sometimes.. I’ve decided to make it alright with my About taking a new path to make it alright |
Audioslave – Heaven's Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I see your wishes fly Out of time For the best time you’ve had To me that part is about the way something that doesn't add up to a long time linearally, can have a deep effect on a person. Heaven’s dead when you get sad I see your wishes fly Out of time This is about the window in time when belief makes things possible, and a chance lost I’ll take it all, arrows or guns Hundreds or more to save you from one To me that line is so wonderful, it's like unconditional, I adore it Save you from one And Where I’ll be |
Audioslave – Doesn't Remind Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I still love this song.. Now the part that gets me is this The things that I’ve loved the things that I’ve lost The things I’ve held sacred that I’ve dropped To me, it's like a song to look at yourself really hard in the mirror and try to figure out what you are going to do next after realizing you really messed up. The music is perfect, the tempo and beauty of the song keep the reflection from falling from self-improvement to self-laothing. The beginning of the song was just 'random' enough to make perfect sense to me. I am soooo grateful that I live somewhere I have access to such wonderful music. Many many thanks to Chris, Tom, Tim and Brad for the music. |
Gym Class Heroes – Cupid's Chokehold Lyrics | 19 years ago |
we even got a secret handshake and she loves the music that my band makes i know i'm young but if i had to choose her or the sun i'd be one nocturnal son of a gun so sad this song is..great beat, and a great live show, but the lyrics are a major bummer every time |
Streetlight Manifesto – Here's To Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
and vincent van gogh, why do you weep? you were on your way to heaven but the road was steep and who was there to break your fall? we're guilty, one and all and i don't know much, but i do know this: with a golden heart comes a rebel fist but i can't help agreeing with those that would not quit I had never heard of BOTAR, and would have not known of SM but for a dear, dear friend. I love this song, the intro is disturbing, but the song kicks ass, always makes me feel stronger. |
Pearl Jam – Man of the Hour Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I only was here to read the lyrics, I saw Big Fish for the first time today and liked the music on the end credits.. Pearl Jam has always been a band that I generally like the music but never understand what it is Eddie is saying.. This song OWNS though.. |
Audioslave – Dandelion Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I wish I had put two 'o's on the last one.. Oops.. I adore this song. It fills me with a sense of relief I hear this song as a reminder that everything comes around, so ride it out. Wonderful. And the new day at the other side of sadness. It is amazing. Thinking of shining tomorrows in a war torn world is a little bit of peace that I hope everyone has enough time for. |
The Black Eyed Peas – Don't Phunk With My Heart Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love this song. I agree with Revelation. I like that it's the girl saying "if I take you home would you still be in love" I think that if you look at it metaphorically, if I take you home can be, if I let you see me warts and all.. And the guy comes in with I want your heart and mind.. Damn that is some hotness.. Musically, this is one of the best songs I have heard so far this year! I know that we are not even halfway through the year, but this song goes on my top 10 list for the year. |
Audioslave – Yesterday to Tomorrow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Even when wrong we’re right Far beyond the world of diamonds and gold I’ve come to realize Where happiness lies I want you to know I know And unlike the times before When life comes alive the past moves aside No regrets no remorse I love those lines.. What a way to end a song.. This is great, lyrically, musically, a complete pacakge.. Audioslave are such a talented bunch of musicians. |
Audioslave – Man or Animal Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Oh boy, Mr Cornell has done it again.. His voice is so sultry sexy, I have not heard him that golden since Burden in My Hand. Love the music here too.. I wonder what more than a heart attack there is |
