Whenever I hear this I thought of a lady at a drug rehab center...though, this song comes before the Graduate right? Because the whole: "Put it in the pantry with your cupcakes" doesn't really fit...unless, "it" is the affair. I think the rehab idea fits better. |

Perhaps he's describing a trip? And that he just was surrounded by women, like his ultimate dream: being surrounded by women, and drinking wine. And I agree with shockdelica: as in, that it means taking chances, even if they end up being un-doable. Because wine stains are permanent. Or maybe they just wanted a kick ass song, and the lyrics aren't what's important, just the amazing music itself...that's just my opinion. |

i always thought this song meant everything you do in life is gonna lead up to this moment of extreme happiness or extreme sadness. like, every action is just another factor in the equation (excuse my lame analogy) leading up to that moment. this came to my mind because of the huge lead up, instrumentally and lyrically to a moment in the song of pure ectasy...at least for me. i get shivers. pink floyd had amazing music, and i think they don't get enough credit. I mean, another brick in the wall pt. 3 was their most famous, but it doesn't even have that much of a PF feel. |

this song is like, when you're so happy, that is sorta cancels out...I personally have never done opium, but you know when you're so happy, that you're really calm? like, you're not all excited, you're just totally calm. is that the feeling you get when you do opium? and this song does remind me of pink floyd, alot. it's like the modern day stoner band. this song reminds me of "fat old sun", by pink floyd, on atom heart mother, because during fat old sun they have a part that just bursts out guitars...it gives me the chills. absolutly love marcy playground, and in a way, i might be sorta glad that sex & candy was popular, because otherwise i wouldn't have gotten into marcy playground |

well, on what the little girl says: i originally thought she said "no plane" but you can clearly hear the plane, so i think it's "an airplane" and this song is soo chilling...i get shivers down my spine everytime i hear it. and the animation for it in "the wall" is beautiful...i like how it shows the dove exploding into that black bird, showing how everything that was good is becoming worse |
