The Bled – Porcelain Hearts And Hammers For Teeth Lyrics 19 years ago
True man, but it wouldn't work for them. I wouldn't really change a thing about em. But does anyone actually have any input as to the meaning of this song?

I think the bare foot in a public washroom part is a metaphor for vulnerability.

I get a feeling that George (the lyricist) is using the catholic school girls as a metaphor for prisoners. The ties that restrict blood to the brain, could be seen as chains or shackles. It could also be attacking the fat cats, who are so restricted by their jobs that they don't even think about their faimilies and shit anymore. They both sort of work together, cause he's saying that these buisness men are prisoners. Although theirs alot of shit about adolecence like "waiting for the three o'clock bell" and "passing notes in math class" I think that it's a higher metaphor for the adult world, who seem to be much more controlled and ignorant than the youth who still maintain that sense of innocence and lack of corruption. I think the love challenging freedom to a fist fight, is not even about love and freedom against eachother, but in a very odd and cool way, they are just destroying eachother. This relates to the buisness men or corrupted adults who lose touch with these two things. I guess instead of greed and power destroying these two other things, they just kill eachother. At the end, we're left with a sense of hopelessness. What I think he means by "self government" is pretty much your free thinking, as appose to our government which has nothing to do with yourself. When it says "left bleeding on the pitchers mound" it's just saying that these two things are dead, and all these fat cats no longer posess these two things (love and freedom)

Thats just a rough analogy, but I really love this song, and I think it could be analyzed to much greater levels. So I'm just hoping that maybe someone can read this and maybe figure out some other things, or just prove me wrong. Great fucking song, and great fucking lyrics.
