Ugh...this song reminds me of something I'm going through right now. Being good enough for someone to want to be with you, but not to break up with who they're with. I love this song, the words are so spitefully honest - like he's teasing the person who wants to be with him 'cause they'll do it even if they know it's wrong..."you need me like a bad habit" Blah. I hate my life. |

I noticed that too...it really sounds a lot like cute without the e, though both songs are great and individual in their own ways. The first time I heard it though I couldn't help but sing along the words to TBS because it sounded so similar...I just saw TBS and FOB in concert together a couple weeks ago and they were both awesome, by the way! |

Wow...I just saw them in concert Sunday night and for the encore, Fred and Adam came out and did this song and I was crying my eyes out...most people in the audience were. It was so, so beautiful but at the same time so heartbreaking and sad. I agree with what a lot of you said about it being about ending a long relationship, but I also think that one of the main themes is unrequited love - knowing that 'the one' is out there but they don't feel the same way about you - and how devastating that is. |

When I first heard this song, the chorus especially just really, really struck me because I could relate to it so well - about being so nervous around someone that you can't even think, basically. And then when you both finally let your inhibitions go...it's like this amazing thing because you just don't know what's gonna happen next. I love this song for putting that feeling across so well.. |

This song kicks so much ass...I love how it's all heavy and then it goes slow...The video fucking SUCKS though...don't watch it. Ever. It will completely ruin the song for you. God I swear, that video is the most annoying thing on television, aside from infomercials. Which is too bad, because the song is AWESOME, can't wait for the new cd! |

This was the first song that Billie Joe has ever written about the death of his dad, which happened when he was...10? I'm not sure. And I think his dad died in september and so mabye he just hates that time of year because it reminds him of it...and every year he wishes he could just sleep all the way through september to avoid thinking about it. I don't know really, just and opinion. |

God this song is amazing...I've listened to it driving home at night soooo many times, and I could just imagine getting in an accident or something and sitting there in the ditch all bloody, knowing that you're so close to death and even though you've wished for it for so long, all of a sudden you realize that you really really want to stay so you start bargaining with God, whom you've never really believed in until that second when it could all be taken away. Such a great song... |

This song is incredible...I love the whole mood to it, it's somber and sad because he's admitting that no matter what you do, there's always gonna be another hurdle you have to jump, for the rest of you life - but then it's also so hopeful because he's saying that even though things are seen as "once in a lifetime", you're always gonna have new chances and new decisions to make until the day you die...it's not as though one choice is going to solve everything. Sorry if that was kind of obscure...awesome song! |

The first time I heard this song, and every time since, I've thought it was about what would happen after Davey commits suicide... especially the line "I can't stand my laughter as she cries", she being his mother. He would be laughing once he was dead because he is so happy to be free, and yet he's watching his mother cry over his death. I don't know, that just makes it really strong to listen to for me, imagining laughing as you watch your loved ones cry over your death. It would be so sacrilegeous. That's just the meaning I get out of it though... |

I was doing this stupid flame observation in chemistry today and when writing down what i saw, I realized that I had just written down blue and yellow to describe the flame. Hence "it starts just where the light exists" and "it burns a hole through everyone that feels it" This song is fucking awesome though, probably my favorite song ever. Can't wait for the new CD. |
