As a Pentecostal, I thought the music video was pretty blasphemous.. but the lyrics somewhat relieved me since it has even slim reference to the real spiritual phenomena "speaking in tongues". If I hadn't seen the video, I'd think more highly of this band. But that's just me. |

The scripture listed before the song, which is not in the song, is from Revelation 8:10-11 during the great tribulation on earth. Tristania sees these disastrous things as God abondoning them, or God dead. How could angels be continuing in God's will, if God ceases to exist any longer? Would the creation even exist? Would chaos even exist? A belief thereof would not give them the perseverence needed to make it through this tribulation, and therefore they would not be of the ones who washed themselves clean in the Lamb's blood as declared in the scripture before the trumpets; 7:9-17. A false doctrine as another son of God in the likeness of God's only son that kills God is nothing but apparent blasphemy; tis only an excuse for those that won't get down on their knees and humble themselves and their hearts before God. This is down to a matter of belief or disbelief. And this song focuses on disbelief of truth. |

i want to take a different position from my last comment, since it is not clear whether the persecuted woman burnt to the stake is persecuted indeed for the sake of any indicated religion. when the Lord Jesus came to Israel, His own people did not receive Him, though they proclaimed themselves as worshippers, etc. so taking this, the crowd around the girl "praised their merciful god", indicating the God we as believers know, though persecuting the girl who chose the narrow path (we are not to judge!). the crowd accuses her of some apparent blasphemies, but she reminds them they will not escape death either. so really, i myself interpreted a message that we should all really just get along and let the love flow. or else were gonna be hypocrites and burn eachother when were all in the same position, which is always trailed by faults and death. |

exactly like the song title, heresy (which is a denial or dissension from an orthodox standard) is clearly presented as the dominant message. without even trying to hide it - - "let us be the ones to put a thorn in thy eye." if you have read the New Testament, you will know a thorn in your eye means that you are blind with sin, or anything you want to call it; not righteous. thats the first sign of heresy, OPEN heresy. so the next few lines it shows some cool literature describing the life of this heretic's life of laborousness and feeling of failing. the narrator is indeed right about nothing in this world remains yours except the privilege to die (it is unclear to me as a positive or negative message, but a truthful one) they end with accusing these frantic masses as being victims of a cult. this song could take either side really, as the heretic accusing a church, or a church accusing a heretic. as both these sides see eachother as the heretic to truth. i'm leaning towards the heretic accusing a church since they say "let us be the ones to put a thorn in thy eye", as a church would probably say "let us be the ones to remove the thorn from thy eye". either way, both sides would stand in a controversial position since we are not to judge unless we want ourselves judged for our judgements made. and who wants that? |

self explanatory. a person draws near the edge of insanity, who desires something to renew them. I halfway understand the metaphor lithium and a lover for a "peerless cure". so.. is it lithium like batteries? or does the element lithium have some medical purpose? either way it still makes sense, no real mystery here. just an awesome gothic song with awesome structure. |

i totally agree with your philosophy to listen to the gentle wind, but everything else seems pretty hippy. seems like the way youre looking for a sign contradicts the wind philosophy. the wind is more like a reminder because its always there, more like a clear message than a long awaited sign. and if you find the sign your looking for inside yourself, um then why are you listening to the wind. yessss i know its symbolic, but its also symbolic of a gentle sign OUTSIDE of the body, not a truth coming from within. think of like the transcendentalist beliefs or hippies in the 60s or liberal queers driving around trying to find themselves. is it any different? i believe the answer we always want will be right in front of us. this is literal and figurative. what can the answer be but wind. its pure, invisible, powerful, and everywhere. and we take it for granted. we need it more than water or food. edenbridge says to let the wind take you, and not the other way around. really anyone who sees this take the intelligence to see what i am saying. ok before this gets any deeper i have to say i love the bands positive messages. i LOVE that! |

you are very right my pasty friend bugmenot. indeed the Christians will be taken off from the earth either by rapture or martyr. Unbelievers/satanists/pagans/etc will be left-but oh.. they will be in for a surprise. An everlasting one unfortunately. it just kills me inside knowing that all the really great music is made by the most warped of minds. mostly the music from this band seems to be deeper than actual lyrics.. sorta like old in flames where the guitars are just so powerful even over lyrics generated with so much precision and strength. man ive been in that jamming 'zone' (its quite fun!) to where lyrics mean nothing and the music speaks all the unspoken inner anguish. anyone who thinks otherwise, pick up a guitarpick/drumsticks and youll find yourself where im talkin about :-D |

Mabool's about a flood (similar to Noah's and the cleansation of sins from the land) but it's like the cleansation of the indifference between religions from the orphaned land (israel;the bands homeland)--the 3 servant animals are the heroes, each of the different conflicting religions;Judaism, Christianity, Islam. This song foreshadows the events to happen later in the album's story. |
