yeah id say its about a family being torn apart by addictions in general, whether sex, alcohol, drugs, or a number of other things, the song kinda talks about each of them "a kiss turns to brandy. " "venom engulfs the most precious fairy tales. " (i think venom could be drugs, im not really sure on that though) "goldilocks forgets the bite for prince charming... " (i would say that could be a sex addiction) actually now that i think about it it could be about somebody trying to fill up their lives with the wrong things, moving from alcohol to drugs to sex, and the nightmare is neverending |

fall out boy, i think ur pretty close actually i dont believe its about a girl being shallow at all, in fact i think its quite the opposite, its about how the shallowness of others drove her to hate herself. in the bridge it talks about how she was beautiful, but nobody noticed her because it wasnt physical beauty, and they said she was flawed, and drove her to kill herself. he says that its the others who are flawed, because of their insensitivity. i also think this song is about how suicide is covered up and forgotten, and how nobody tries to find the reason why she killed herself. thats said pretty explicitly "But suicide is something we'd rather not mention here. In our beautiful world of saving face. " this is one of my favorite DP songs, and i think ive got a pretty good interpretation of it, but if theres more to it id like to know. |
