Les is awesome, but I don't think the rest of the guys in the band (past and present) get enough respect. Most bands have one strong focal point... Vocals, drums, guitar, or bass... Primus, on the other hand, has it all going for them. Watch the Hallucino-Genetics DVD.. Les is right on with the bass and vocals, Tim tears it up on hiss drum solos and, really, whenever he's playing. Ler is simply awesome on guitar also...
I read that quite a bit of the playing that connects the songs and some other playing on the DVD is essentially a jam session.. unrehearsed, come up with on the spot, etc...
This song... it got old fast because it's my gf's and my roommate's favorite primus songs. It's still a good song though. |

You forgot the most important part....
... and doesn't know shit.
In the final verse he says "Perfection is my middle name and whatever rhymes with eloquent". Les could definitely find aword that rhymes with eloquent, but instead he chooses to portray this last verse in this way to show that 'Know-it-alls' are not as good as they think. Anyone that can claim they are perfect should be able to rhyme that word. |

I believe that it shows us Americans that it's really not bad here, and that even with the faults of this country we still should be happy to live here.
The first 2 people are basically living what most of us would consider to be horrible lives, but it's better than what they would be living in their native country. |

I think that this, like many Primus songs, has the potential to be about drugs. A lot of folks try drugs due to boredom, pinholes in cardboard... pinhole pupils due to drug use... spending money on drugs (passings the bucks one by one) and leaving nothing behind except memories.
"Watching Majesty blow past, speculating which will be the last, savoring my piece of the pie" - Enjoying the high as you progress through it, hoping it doesn't end, yet enjoying it while it lasts.
Most of primuses songs are a lot deeper than people seem to think, and it's not about what it says, its about what its telling you. |

If you actually heard this song and had a thought in your mind for one second that SOAD sang this, then you are the one that is jacked. Anyone who has listened to SOAD should know easily that they couldn't/wouldn't make a song anything like this. |
