Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Adam Wade Gontier is a musician who has been the lead singer of Canadian band, Three Days Grace (formerly known as Groundswell) and the supergroup SΔINT ΔSONIΔ
Adam's education began at Adam Scott Collegiate Vocational Institute, then he moved to Aspholdo-Norwood for high school where he met Barry James Stock, Brad Walst and Neil Christopher Sanderson. Together they started practicing together and formed the band Groundswell. One day they got lucky and met a producer who liked their music and they got signed to a label. After this, they changed their name to Three Days Grace. Unfortunately over time of being in Three Days Grace, Adam started getting into substance usage and developped an addiction to OxyCotin. He has had many attempts of rehab during his time in Three Days Grace with no success. He had attempted in 2006 and during his time, he wrote many hits on the album One-X including Animal I Have Become and Pain. Later in 2013, he left Three Days Grace in pursuit of becoming clean.
Recently on the Mark and Hoogie Show, Adam admitted that his plan was to go a solo career, however former Staind member, Mike Mushok messaged him and then they started to write some tunes together. As they felt they worked well together, they began a new band together, which later became SΔINT ΔSONIΔ. Later on they brought more members into the band including Adam's cousin Cale Gontier (bassist for Art of Dying) and Cody Watkins. The last time that he has had a relapse with use was 2017. To date he is sober and continues to battle his addiction daily.
