Le Butcherettes was created by Teri Gender Bender In Guadalajara, Mexico. Quick acclaim was achieved in the Mexican underground scene, the quick recognition of the band led them to win the award for "Best New Artist" and "Best Punk Record" in the Indie-O Awards 2009.
Le Butcherettes played in a number of events, notably Hellow Fest 2009 in Monterrey and being asked to be the opening act for The Dead Weather in their Mexico City and Guadalajara shows. In January 2010, Le Butcherettes were invited by the Yeah Yeahs Yeahs as their opening act for their Mexican shows in Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City.
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of The Mars Volta produced (as well as contributed bass guitar to) Le Butcherettes' first LP Sin Sin Sin. "Henry Don't Got Love", the first single from the upcoming album, was released in 2010 as a free download from Le Butcherettes' Bandcamp page. Teri moved the band to Los Angeles The album was released in May 2011 on Omar's label Rodriguez-Lopez Productions. They began touring the U.S. with Deftones and The Dillinger Escape Plan. They were asked to tour with The Mars Volta on their European tour.
