I think it's a history of England and its relationship with the US

Chimes sing Sunday morn (Chimes signal the beginning and end of a hour, Sunday the beginning and end of the week, and morning the beginning of a new day... Beginning of a new era) Today's the day she's sworn To steal what she never could own (England could never own a man's soul until the founding of the church of England. Henry the 8th stole ecclisiastical dominion over the English people from Rome. And consolidated it with the political power of the monarchy.) And race from this hole she calls home (As a consequence of his break with Rome Henry the 8th built up the English navy to guard against possible invasion from France and Spain(both still heavily influence by the pope). This was during the Age of Discovery and the increased naval power allowed England to race around the globe securing colonies.)

Now you're at the wheel (A wheel makes a revolution and is used to maintain direction.. your at the revolution, your in control.) Tell me how, how does it feel? So good to have equalised (the abolition of the English class system based on hereditary titles) To lift up the lids of your eyes (the establishment of a new class system that separated citizens born in America from those who immigrated. Doctors at Ellis Island would lift the eyelids of immigrants to check from Trachoma. The same method was used to inspect livestock.)

As the mile they disappear (The Last Long Mile was a patriotic World War I song) See land begin to clear (The land was cleared of everything by Allied saturation bombing) Free from the filth and the scum (Liberating Europe from the Nazis) This American satellites won (V for victory... A quintessential image of Britain winning)

She'll carry on through it all She's a waterfall

See the steeple pine (The Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest building in the world for 247 years. Until a storm blew the spire off of the steeple in 1549. A tall steeple pines to be the tallest a great country pines to be the greatest.) The hills as old as time (Before the Lincoln Cathedral the Great Pyramid of Giza were the tallest man made structures in the world. It held the record for over 3000 years back to the dawn of civilization) Soon to be put to the test To be whipped by the winds of the west (The Pyramids have lost 21 feet to wind erosion and the Lincoln Cathedral has lost it's steeple. Will these traditional symbols of prestige; the tallest building, largest mausoleum fall to the wind from the west.. windfall.. after WWII the US became the economic hub of the world(Brentenwoods Agreement))

Stands on shifting sands The scales held in her hands (A reference to the common law system. Law is developed by decisions of courts and tribunals. This means precedent is set by the most recent ruling and becomes law. This leads to a shallow, ever morphing foundation... Sand.) The wind it just whips her away And fills up her brigantine sails (Brigantine ships were used primarily by merchants. Money(the wind) pushes law and values aside to serve its own needs... to make more money.

She's a waterfall (I thought of the saying "When an unstoppable force meets and immovable object" when imagining the base of the waterfall. Britain may unexpectedly have the ground pulled out from beneath her and enter a moment of chaos, but she'll find her way after.)

"BRIGATINE SAILS" ........the Brigantes were a celtic tribe in belgium , britain and Ireland which gave its name to BRITAIN (wasnt PRYDEIN as in king arthur, the romans and future academics didnt want to give the sorese BRIGANTES to Britain , because it also gave its name to BRIGANDS .

Not Valid

So BRIGANTINE , simply means BRITISH . I think your delving TOO DEEP here . "the steeple pines" are simply pine trees . its simply references to LIBERATION , both of Britain and the "girl" / the "she", and the MIND in general . " Now your at the wheel , tell me how does it feel " is much the same as DYLANS " now that your at the top , tell me where your at " ......(like a rolling stone , cant remember the exact phrase , but much the same )....Now that your free liberated , in control , how does it feel ?

Not Valid
