I think the first verse the singer addressing a guy that is in a relationship with a girl that he is in love with and he is basically saying that he would love her more and treat her better than the boyfriend does. The boyfriend propbaly cheats on her hence "And can you kneel before the king And say I'm clean, I'm clean" which is a reference to god.

The girlfriend confides in him about how he treats her and/ or flirts with him so he thinks that she feels the same about him. He eventually comes on to her and she rejects him and and she denies that she ever gave him any signals, and basically blames him and makes him feel bad about coming on to her while she is in a relationship. Hence

"You desired my attention but denied my affections, my affections"

Not exactly sure what "Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole lie" means. i think it might mean that he wants her to be honest with him, and possibly herself, and not lead him on or make her mind up what she wants, because he still has a thing for her evan though she seems like an evil bitch!! and "But tell me now, where was my fault In loving you with all my heart"

And the line "A white blank page and a swelling rage, rage" is either the singer wanting tp write her a letter about how he feels or this song bassically explaining how he feels.

I agree, this seems to be about a girl who doesn't honour her commitment to a relationship. A lot of the strength comes from its probably borrowing from the genre and imagery of many Old Testament prophets... Where unfaithfulness is spoken of in the language of adultery, and God's undying love is angry at the way the 'bride' blindly tramples all over not only him, but all the splendour she could have with him instead of her brokenness and craving. I guess something that were truly, perfectly good, couldn't be constantly compromised, or treated like it were worthless- it just...

What freaks me out the most about your post is that in those 4 short paragraphs you've summed up whats going on in my life currently...have a +1 :)

But yes i definitely agree with you on that one

I think the line 'a white blank page and a swelling rage' means that in the end the relationship was one sided, he only loved her and now the 'white blank page' means he has absolutely nothing to show of this relationship now he has a 'swelling rage', he is sad, furious and frustrated he wasn't loved back
