Going off of what ilex and igorce said;
The whole 'Red Star' deal, well that was the symbol for communism. I can't remember the details of what my Global teacher said, even though it was last year, but I know for a fact that a Red Star on a flag represents communism, and, in my opinon, I always associate it with nazis. So I think that Rainbow or Chibi, however the fucking hell wrote this song [they did a spectacular job, by the way] was trying to symbolize our world today, with all the posers and fakes and mindless followers, as if it were Communist [or whatever you spell it.] It's really quite obvious if you read the lyrics through with this thought in mind. I really liked T.C.'s idea about the cutting. I know alot of people who do that to fit in and walk around telling people they did it to impress or whatever they're doing; I honestly have no clue what is going through their head. But, in the end, it all means the same thing. The basic point of the song is about people becoming fake and copying others.
Great lyrics, though I always did think it was
'You sign and we erase it'
and
'It's my red star, steal it;
It's my red star, can't forget;
It's my red star, conceal it;
It's my red star, oh no.'
And, yeah, just until now I read radio fuck's comment -___- Haha, could've saved me time. But artist's don't usually write songs expecting it to have just one meaning, they leave alot of it up to the fans to interpret to make their own and relate to. So, all in all, high fives, hugs, and kisses for The Birthday Massacre.
