Don't tell your right hand baby
What your left hand do
You know those road check girls
Will make your brown breath blue

Peaches and cream
You make a garbage man scream
Such a dangerous dream
Peaches and cream...

You look good in that sweater
And that aluminum crutch
I'm gonna let you down easy
I've got a delicate touch

Peaches and cream
You make a garbage man scream
Come on girl it's a dream

You're a torn out page
From a best selling book
Your home girl's on the line
But your daddy's off the hook
Where do we go now?

Give these pious soldiers
Another lollipop
Cause we're on the good ship
Menage et tois
Peaches and cream
You make a garbage man scream
Such a delicate thing

Keep your lamplight trimmed and burning

    General CommentOh meh Gehd!
    I can't believe nobody's commented on this!
Oh well, I'm honored to be the first commenter.

Beck singing in a fey, high-pitched voice.
I love how he sings "ooh, oooh OOOOOHHH".
    It's Beckalicious.
    So..uhh what's it about?
I keep thinking it's about somebody seducing a younger girl.
Yep. But then again, I'm probably wrong.

General CommentI'm fairly certain this is a silly love song for his girlfriend of the time. Beck used to call himself/be called "the garbage man" because of his ability to scrap together junk and make great music with it when he was younger. Peaches 'n Cream being his girlfriend.
He's also mentioned in interviews that the last line was just something ridiculous he put in on a whim, so that leads me to believe it's not such an intensely sexual song (in his intentions at least)

General CommentThe garbage man thing is beyond me. Beck's best song, along with nicotine and gravy. Can't figure out either of them, lots of phrases that dont really go together.

General Comment"You look good in that sweater
    And that aluminum crutch"

because of these lines i was always thinking it's about some rather unattractive girl or handicapped whick would give the rest of the song an ironic feel as it's so filled with erotism..

i'm not sure about the bit about the lamp - guess singing verses like this is typical for gospel choirs (then lamp symbolises faith) and featuring one in the song required such references?:)

General CommentOne of the greatest lines in a song - ever:

    And give those pious soldiers
    Another lollipop
'Cause we're on the good ship
    Ménage à trois...

    Bahaha I love it.

My InterpretationIts a guy fantasing about s girl whos unattractive and innocent such as shes never msterbated ( Dont tell your right hand baby what your left hand do)

The garbage man part i get. Garbage men are like low standard guys and they deal with trash and yucky things and the fact that its a girl who unatrative but for the standards of a garbage man its great, it makes the garbage man scream

lamplight trimmed and burning means take care of yourself and have faith because you never know what could happen! a hott guy can come around and randomly pick a poor, sweet, and plain girl for whatever reason. she could get lucky, at least for a night!!!

General CommentNo - you're all wrong about the 'Keep your lamp light trimmed and burning' line. It's a reference to a Blind Willie Johnson song of that name. Beck is quoting the delta blues. Go listen to it!
