Close your eyes
Have no fear
The monster's gone
He's on the run and your daddy's here

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way, it's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Out on the ocean sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But I guess we'll both just have to be patient
'Cause it's a long way to go
A hard row to hoe
Yes, it's a long way to go
But in the meantime

Before you cross the street
Take my hand
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way, it's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Darling, darling, darling
Darling Sean

(Goodnight Sean, see you in the morning)

Im sure that you all are right.. However, I kinda look at this song in a different way. (Sorry, ended up a little longer than I expected..)The way I see it,

Close your eyes Have no fear The monster's gone He's on the run and your daddy's here

He is most likely talking to his son. Maybe he could be talking to us? We are in a time of war. A time of seperatness. A time with more borders than bridges. Hard times for sure, just as it was for them. Maybe he is saying close your eyes, and have no fear. The monster (this attitude, or feeling of seperatness which governs our reality) is on the run (as a peace activist, he believed what he was doing was making a change) and your daddy's here (maybe you could look at him as the father figure, trying to protect the world from war and hate.)

    Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Beautiful boy

Again.. I'm sure you are all right and he is talking about his son.. I interpret as he sees 1) the tremendous amount of beauty this world has to offer, 2) how much beauty is being ignored, and 3) he sees the unlimited amount of potential beauty. Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful (three times..)

Out on the ocean sailing away I can hardly wait To see you come of age But I guess we'll both just have to be patient 'Cause it's a long way to go A hard row to hoe Yes it's a long way to go But in the meantime

Out on the ocean sailing away.. I believe I heard somewhere that he had prophesized his own death? I'm sure the Nixon Administration and their antics had led him to believe that this was possible. I think, and again this is just my interpretation, he is saying that he may not live to see (sailing away) this world become a better place (or come of age), but he can hardly wait. So I guess we'll both just have to be patient, because it's a long way to go. This isn't going to be easy, and there's a lot of progress to be made (A hard row to hoe).

Before you cross the street Take my hand Life is what happens to you While you're busy making other plans

Again.. My interpretation.. Before you cross the street, take my hand. Maybe before people make rash, life altering, world impact decisions (like going to war, whether it be Vietnam or Iraq..) they should listen to what he has to say (take my hand), and "Give Peace A Chance". We are constantly drawing Battle Lines, (making plans) for war, or drawing borders (too keep people out instead of welcoming them in). We are too busy.. And what life could be is just passing us right by. I believe we get a glimpse every once in a while though. But somehow the people that understand this "pose a threat". I guess it lightens one too many pocketbooks for comfort...

Before you go to sleep Say a little prayer Every day in every way It's getting better and better

Maybe he is saying that once brought to light, we can fix the situation. Put in a little effort (say a little prayer), and every day in every way, it's going to get better and better...

    Just a thought..

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
