Ooh, my little pretty one, my pretty one
When you gonna give me some time, Sharona?
Ooh, you make my motor run, my motor run
Got it coming off of the line, Sharona

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up for the touch of the younger kind
My, my, my, I-I, whoa
M-m-m-my Sharona

Come a little closer, huh, a-will ya, huh?
Close enough to look in my eyes, Sharona
Keeping it a mystery, it gets to me
Running down the length of my thighs, Sharona

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up for the touch of the younger kind
My, my, my, I-I, whoa
M-m-m-my Sharona
M-m-m-my Sharona

When you gonna give to me, g-give to me?
Is it just a matter of time, Sharona?
Is it d-d-destiny, d-destiny
Or is it just a game in my mind, Sharona?

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up for the touch of the younger kind
My, my, my, I-I, whoa
M-m-m-m-m-m-m-my, my, my, I-I, whoa
M-m-m-my Sharona
M-m-m-my Sharona
M-m-m-my Sharona
M-m-m-my Sharona

Ooh-oh, my Sharona
Ooh-oh, my Sharona
Ooh-oh, my Sharona

Song MeaningWho said this was n Nirvana song? Really!!!

The riff of "My Sharona" was written by the band's guitarist, Berton Averre, years before he joined The Knack. He had played it and a drum groove for Doug Fieger, the group's lead singer and rhythm guitarist, who loved it and promised to make it a song. However, Fieger, with no lyric ideas to add, was unsure what to do with it beyond that.
Sharona was Sharona Alperin. Sharona herself appears on the picture sleeve for the single.

General CommentAs most all of you have mentioned, this song is about some guy having sex (or wanting to) with a younger girl. Really shady meaning...but an amazing song. It is my number one favorite song of all time (a close second is "Carry on my wayward son" by Kansas) and the guitar solo is nothing short of addictive. Truly incredible!

General CommentLucky dog. My mother burned all my 8-tracks.
Meaning: The guy likes a younger girl. It's kind of a sick song, but I love it.

General CommentActually.. this song was written in order to seduce Sharona, the roomate of the lead singer's girlfriend. I absolutely LOVE this song; it's definitely one of the best songs of all time.

General CommentIt seems like all of The Knack's songs just perfectly embody what it's like to be a sex-obsessed teenager. Like the whole album, "Get the Knack"--it will probably always remind me of people I knew in high school. And I wouldn't call them a one-hit wonder. Well, maybe The Knack only had one hit song, but the entire album I mentioned is awesome. I actually can't believe that The Knack has only one entry. "Oh Tara," "Good Girls Don't," "Let Me Out," "(She's So) Selfish"....they're all great songs, I thought more people would listen to them!
As a side note, I also love Weird Al's "My Bologna."

General Commenti sure as hell hope not. This makes me want to dance around like the ADD kid that I though I had abandoned on I-95 a long ago.
