For everyman a religion
Find everybody and rule
(Fuck) everything and rumble
Forget everything and remember
For everything a reason
Forgive everybody and remember
For everyman a religion
Face everybody and rule
(Fuck) everything and rumble
Forget everything and remember
For everything a reason
You got the fear

Freeing excellence affects reality
Fallen empires are running
Find earth and reap
Amazing revelations
Final execution and resurrection
Free expression as revolution
Finding everything and realizing
You got the fear

Great video too. He's never looked more monkey like.

I get the distinct impression that this song's actually about fear... You can tell by the way fear's emphasised and repeated ;)
Nicely done!

What's not to get... I was faintly expressing apparent ridicule ;)

While you've certainly proved your point, does it take you ten years to form every apt reaction?

I'm wondering if maybe you should've followed your own (fairly egotistical) asinine recommendation.

I personally think this song is about standing up for what you believe in.
Every F.E.A.R. anagram is something that he believes in or thinks that people should do, and he's voicing it all in one song. "The fear" is the fear of people judging you for what you believe, in which case you don't stand up for it.
examples: Final execution and resurrection. Free expression as revolution. For everyman a religion. For everything a reason.
I know many of you will think I'm wrong on this but this is what I like to believe.
@GOSHADEZ I tend to agree with you however I don't necessarily believe it's the "fear of people judging you for what you believe", rather I believe Ian is saying that despite that fact that people do actually fear all these things (eg. For every man a religion, Face everybody and rule) you should stick to your ideologies.

It's a small difference I know, but an important one. Your preface is that people may fear others for what they believe in, "in which case [they] don't stand up for it", whereas I try to put a more 'glass half...
It's a small difference I know, but an important one. Your preface is that people may fear others for what they believe in, "in which case [they] don't stand up for it", whereas I try to put a more 'glass half full' spin on in and believe the meaning is "Understand that people will fear your beliefs, but you should stick to them anyway and be who you really are"; eg. For everything a reason, Forgive everybody and remember.
Regardless, I do like your take on it...

Definitely life changing, after seeing this video when I was young, there's was a new ground of music for me to discover

The refrain “F.E.A.R (you’ve got the fear)” seems out of keeping with the verses. The verses talk of finding freedom and the resulting consequences: creativity, realisation, revolution, yet the refrain insists you have the fear, why should that be so?
These “positive” consequences of freedom have their basis in more “negative” forms: you cannot create without first being empty; you cannot realise without having previously not realised (which can create a despair at time lost and for others who are still where you were); you cannot bring revolution without destroying what came before, even if this is your own ignorance - it may have been a comfortable place from which it would be scary to overturn.
Ultimately, this new found beautiful thing also brings an overwhelming fear - fear without an object, free-floating fear, a vertiginous fear, like looking over the precipice into the infinite void of possibility. Don’t fall in! :)

Clever use of the word "Fear"! This song didn't take me until I heard it live. Ian Brown gives something to the song that it lacks when heard on TV.

I wasn't particularly impressed by it until I saw the video clip. Sometimes it takes a really clever clip to get me to realise how good a song is. And this is definitely one of them.

F**K everything and Rumble - by the way...
Everybody gets the fear at some point, its all about staying cool at the right time

I first heard this song from the video clip where it plays reverse of a man riding a bicycle, displaying lyrics per line as they go, emphasizing on the letters, which they spell FEAR. Each line on this song speaks the truth about fear itself, such as "finding everything and realizing". I also find some of the lines to be encouraging such as "Fantastic expectations, amazing revelations". This song is so unique with its use of poetic analgram and is very inspiring to me.

'Poetic Analgram' eh. Sounds like a porno title. Seriously though Ian Brown has matured into prob the best lyricist of the past 10 years. Grittier than Thom Yorke but equally as good. For everything a reason! everyone should relate to that
