Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.
Sold to the highest bidder
So he owns you now, will he allow?
I'm told he's a mortal sinner
Will he prevail? Are you for sale?
Exposed with a sense of vigor
Are you lonely now? Did he tell you how?
But lose that lovely figure
Is he coming home? Is he out alone?
The price of life and fate is going down, down
To pennies and change, sold again
There's nothing like the high life and those people
Who laugh at your jokes, not you alone
Control needs to acquire
All that contraband is that blood on your hands
Shadow needs to aspire
To that cattle brand, they're so underhand
The price of life and fate is going down, down
To pennies and change, sold again
There's nothing like the high life and those people
Who laugh at your jokes, not you alone
No love, love not for sale
And it moves him to tears
No love, love not for sale
And he chooses to fail
The price of life and fate is going down, down
To pennies and change, sold again
There's nothing like the high life and those people
Who laugh at your jokes, not you alone
So he owns you now, will he allow?
I'm told he's a mortal sinner
Will he prevail? Are you for sale?
Exposed with a sense of vigor
Are you lonely now? Did he tell you how?
But lose that lovely figure
Is he coming home? Is he out alone?
The price of life and fate is going down, down
To pennies and change, sold again
There's nothing like the high life and those people
Who laugh at your jokes, not you alone
Control needs to acquire
All that contraband is that blood on your hands
Shadow needs to aspire
To that cattle brand, they're so underhand
The price of life and fate is going down, down
To pennies and change, sold again
There's nothing like the high life and those people
Who laugh at your jokes, not you alone
No love, love not for sale
And it moves him to tears
No love, love not for sale
And he chooses to fail
The price of life and fate is going down, down
To pennies and change, sold again
There's nothing like the high life and those people
Who laugh at your jokes, not you alone

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Magical

Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
Not quite sure if these are the official lyrics, but they are the same ones I've been seeing in many places. The line "The price of life and fate is going down, down" in particular doesn't quite seem to me like what is said in the song, though it is hard to tell for sure.
