Hockey Teeth Lyrics
That held you in their arms
With a love so hot and getting hotter
They're setting off fire alarms
I remember their names
Ain't it a beautiful thing to watch our love, or season change
You know, I'm thanking the lord for blessing you with hockey teeth
Those plans are all in the past
Who among us could know
That our love would come and grow so very fast
And drove that car to the beach
And ever since that day,
Never very far away, or out of reach
You know I'm thanking the lord for blessing you with hockey teeth
You know I'm thanking the lord for blessing you with hockey teeth

i'll only say this twice: if you have the chance see bahamas LIVE. the music is infectious and he is a great performer.

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet because Afie does that himself very well in this song. It's a love song to his current love, saying that their love wipes away any others than came before. The "hockey teeth" metaphor is kind of self-evident; hockey players' teeth are all over the place thanks to fights and injuries - basically, they have anything but perfect teeth. And in this he is acknowledging her faults and saying that he's actually glad for them.

I was at a concert of his in Calgary last night, and he said this song is about when you go in to kiss your significant other, and your teeth hit! hah

Also, here's my interpretation of the lyrics:
Though there were men before me That held you in their arms With a love so hot and getting hotter They're setting off fire alarms
Though there were girls before you I don't remember their names Ain't it a beautiful thing To watch our love or a season change
Every night when I lay you down Lay you down to sleep You now Im thanking the lord for blessing you with hockey teeth
Though you might have had a plan Those plans are all in the past Cause who among us could know That our love would come and grow so very fast
Seems like we got in your car And drove that car to the beach And ever since that day Never very far away, or out of reach
Every night when I lay you down Lay you down to sleep You now Im thanking the lord for blessing you with hockey teeth

I totally agree with imtryingtowakeup. I just saw Robert Plant last night at Jazzfest, and Bahamas was the opening act. Seriously infectious music. They've been stuck in my head since last night!

They've been stuck in my head since all year. Just awesome.
