Six Feet Under the Stars Lyrics
It is Thames. In Baltimore, there is a Thames Street that hits South Broadway. It's not pronounced like it's spelled, though; it's pronounced more like 'teymz.'
i still don't think it's "kick it, hang for hours"; it sounds more like "kick it here for hours." and it makes more sense to me.
and it kind of sounds like a mixture of things, knowing alex it could be about another married woman or a stripper. so hey, really, the sky's the limit on this song. but i think the situation is like he is pretty much digging his own grave- he wants to impress this girl and keep her around, and then theres the whole underage drinking thing with the i.d. and how it's embarrassing because he's trying to dress the part but it's too much effort. so he's kind of setting himself up for a letdown but he wants her to be with him for the ride. idk, just my take.
haha, my dad's office is like right on south broadway, near thames street. no lie bahahaha
i could be wrong. but i thought these were the lyrics
Time to lay claim To the evidence fingerprints sold me out But our footprints washed away from the docks downtown And its been getting late for days and I feel myself deserving of A little time off. We can kick it, hang for hours, And just mouth off about the world And how we know its going straight to hell
Pass me another bottle honey The Jaegers so sweet But if it keeps you around then I’m down
Meet me on Thames Street I’ll take you out though I’m hardly worth your time In the cold you look so fierce But I’m warming up because attentions like a fire We’ll hit South Broadway in a matter of minutes And like a bad movie I’ll drop a line Fall in a grave I’ve been digging myself But there’s room for two Six feet under the stars
I should have known better Than to call you out (on a night like this, a night like this) If not for you I know I’d tear this place to the ground (I’m alright like this, alright like this) I’m gonna roll the dice before you sober up and get gone (I’m always in over my head) Thames Street I’ll take you out though I’m hardly worth your time. In the cold you look so fierce But I’m warming up because attentions like a fire We’ll hit South Broadway in a matter of minutes And like a bad movie I’ll drop a line Fall in a grave I’ve been digging myself But there’s room for two Six feet under the stars
Time to lay claim To the evidence fingerprints sold me out But our footprints washed away I’m guilty but I’m safe for one more day Overdressed and underage? Do you really need to see an ID? This is embarrassing to say But I can cover for it so well When we’re six feet under the stars
Thames Street I’ll take you out Though I’m hardly worth your time. In the cold you look so fierce But I’m warming up because attentions like a fire Well hit South Broadway in a matter of minutes And like a bad movie I’ll drop a line Fall in a grave I’ve been digging myself But there’s room for two six feet under the stars
Six feet under the stars Six feet under the stars
Yeah, it's Thames Street, not Side.
god you people comment fast, i had no idea what it was, that was the closest i could think.. i even looked up a map of downtown baltimore around south broadway, hah, i was going insane. however, i do still think it's "because the tension's like a fire." but who knows. :D
yeah i agree with you i think it is "because the tension's like a fire". That makes a lot more sense. haha
i love this song!!! can't wait for so wrong its right, and the tour with boys like girls (my 2 fav. bands in one tour! ekk!) =]
Doesn't much sound like they say Thames to me at all. But maybe I'm just weird. Also I think it says embarrassing as hell, not embarrassing to sell.
Oh, I guess it was just a pronunciation misunderstanding haha.
