but I'm trying to see your point of view
Deep in my heart, I'm afraid of dying,
I'd be lying if I said I'm not
Shame about the weather
Welcome in, welcome in,
It will come
It's a sin, it's a sin,
Where birds of a feather, are welcome to, land on you
Ya Ya Ya *2
You've got my eyes
We can see, what you'll be, you can't disguise
And either way, I will pray, you will be wise
Pretty soon you will see the tears in my eyes..
We discover that we're not alone
And each day we try, the best we can to recover,
All the feelings that we left below
Shame about the weather
Welcome in, welcome in,
You will come
It's a sin, it's a sin,
Where birds of a feather, are welcome to, land on you
Ya Ya Ya *2
You've got my eyes
We can see, what you'll be, you can't disguise
And either way, I will pray, you will be wise
Pretty soon you will see the tears in my eyes..
Shame about the weather
Welcome in, welcome in,
You will come
It's a sin, it's a sin,
Where birds of a feather, are welcome to, land on you...
Ya Ya Ya *2
You've got my eyes
We can see, what you'll be, you can't disguise
And either way, I will pray, you will be wise
Pretty soon you will see the tears in my eyes.. *3

Im pretty sure this is about the lead singer's child. It's about how he and his wife could see him grow in the uterus "We can see, what you'll be, you can't disguise"
and how he will see tears in his father's eyes when he is born "Pretty soon you will see the tears in my eyes"

this is the sweetest lyric on earth!
yeah definetely for his growing child.
love when it says shame about the weather, cause its always raining there where he lives, and he thinks his child deserves sun and rainbows.

I don't think when he says, "Shame about the weather," that he's merely talking about the rain in the UK. I think he means it metaphorically to refer to the state of the world-- politics, environment, etc. As if to say, "Welcome to the world. Sorry we've messed it up so much, but we're glad you're here."

to restless hearts: "It's a sin, it's a sin, where birds of a feather, are welcome to, land on you". I think hes trying to interpret that his child shares his personal traits/genetics. Its a sin because he might not want his child to share and deal with the same hardships and struggles that he went through that might have been self-distructive from his own personality and so on.

Yeah he said it was at the live show at the ABC rooms Glasgow (about his new kid) Clearly bout his pride and looking to the future
i love this album, they have gained more in their melodic voice, but at the same time the album will bring a smile to fans faces think.i look forward to hear the reviews :)

he told us when we went to see them, that he wrote it the day he found out his wife was pregnant. i love itm cutest song ever! xxx

and its 'land anew' not land on you =]

omg this song is lovely!

It's beautiful. I was speculating what it was about, pretty much decided what everyone else wrote. "you got my eyes" ohhhh lovely :o)

I love this song.
Why does he sing 'it's a sin' though?
