LOVE THIS SONG!!!! What it means to me: For many reasons, Prince is sexually motivated. "Where is my love life? Where has it gone?" Prince's brain (his computer) lights up when sex is involved. Meaning he talks to girls who are beautiful thinking he will fall in love, but in the end, once he has sex he's done. I love this song. Its brilliant.
Deffinatly has a memorable guitar riff and bass from about 2 minuets onwards. Great stuff.
Although I'm a huge fan, it took me years to figure out that when he's screaming at the end, he's actually saying "Com-pu-ter Bluuuuuuuue."
It's funny how in the movie "Purple Rain", Prince's character caught heat for playing this song & "Darling Nikki" in that night club, yet in real life most "Prince" fans actually love them!
I'm just going to take a shot at it, Prince always has some type of hidden meaning to his songs, which i love but i just think it probably has to do with a person spending all their life on a computer and not having any type of personal life..
