Save Yourself Lyrics

I’m a great explorer, I’ve been exploring your mind
I found giant rivers, mountain ranges never climbed
I’m a great explorer, but now I’m lost inside your head
I don’t have directions just a heavy load instead
you said you’d save me if I ever got lost
I said well baby,

First you save yourself
then you save the world
but first you save yourself

I’m a great believer in believing in you
but I don’t have a compass,
no plans for pushing through
I guess I’m pinned down, bad weather’s on the way
I need your shelter now but

First you save yourself
then you save the world, first you save yourself

You’re such a brilliant pearl
living in an unforgiving world
and it doesn’t help us very much
if you throw the line to someone else
first you save yourself
then you save the world but first you save yourself

Great song. About taking care of yourself first, you come first, then take care of everyone else. This is about a guy who loves this girl who tries to take care of everyone and he loves that about her, but wants her to take care of herself first.

What an amazing song. It speaks wonders. Like nothing and everything I'ver heard before. Why this is only the second comment I have no idea.

thats weird. The first time i heard this song, I thought it was about someone being selfish. and I thought the lines "first you save yourself, then you save the world..but first you save yourself" not like him asking her, but him saying...thats what you do. its always about you, you come first. and the part about him needing her shelter now, but he says "but..." and repeats the corus..sort of reiterating the fact that he might need her, but he must not forget that she always puts herself first.....then comes everyone else.

thats just what i thought of when i first heard it,but now I see it from the point of her being selfLESS and maybe not selfISH

It truly is an amazing song. I think of so much when I hear it.

There are so many songs that don't get enough credit, and this one gets none whatsoever.
