Nightgown of the Sullen Moon Lyrics
With your hand on the knob looking up and abruptly
Forget what you’re thinking, fire alarms go off in your head, you live
How the windows lean into the room
In the nightgown of the sullen moon
Space walk, it’s like a space walk with the corresponding weight loss
And you’re nothing but air, with your hand in the air
And your shoelaces tied all together with care
There’s a feeling of boredom of the big whoredom
Following dressing up
How the windows lean into the room
In the nightgown of the sullen moon
How the windows lean into the room
In the nightgown of the sullen moon
It’s not necessary to breathe
Forever is a long time
It’s not necessary to breathe
Forever is a long time
Your head is on the moon
Your head is on the moon

I don't know what this means. Personally, I think it might be following in the vein of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, except TMBG is basing it off what they heard it is like, not on personal experience. I doubt they have it anyway.

Whatever it's untimately about, it's not a drug trip iself. As the lyrics state, it's something that is being compared to a drug trip.

That second verse has some great rhymes.

I would like to think of it as a dream. Anyone of these things can happen in a dream. So, Yep.

i always thought "of the big whoredom" was "utter decorum". dissapointed its not, as i loved that line "theres a feeling of boredom, utter decorum" oh well, guess it didn't make much sense anyway.

it seems sort like its' about a girl who was sleep walking, fell, due the the shoelaces, and fell against the door, or doorknob. Which would be particularly dangerous if you where to hit your head. Hence "fire alarms go off in your head, you live." So she would have a severe head injury, makes her see lights, and a possible ringing(?),

I'm pretty sure the song is about passionately falling into a room, getting undressed, having sex, getting dressed and then leaving, but the whole song is very ambiguous.
