Please Come To Boston Lyrics
For the springtime
I'm stayin' here with some friends
And they've got lots of room
You can sell your paintings on the sidewalk
By a cafe where I hope to be workin' soon
Please come to Boston
She said no, boy you come home to me
She said, hey ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down Denver ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold
And there ain't nobody like me
I'm the number one fan
Of the band from Tennessee
To see the snowfall
We'll move up into the mountains
So far we can't be found
And throw I love you echos
Down the canyons
And then lie awake at night
Until they come back around
Please come to Denver
She said no, boy you come home to me
She said, hey ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down Denver ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold
And there ain't nobody like me
I'm the number one fan
Of the band from Tennessee
Goes round and round
And I doubt if it's ever gonna stop
But of all the dreams
He's lost or found
And all that I ain't got
I need somebody I can cling to
Somebody he can sing to
To live forever
A California life alone
Is just too hard to build
I live in a house that
Looks out over the ocean
And there's some stars
That fell from the sky
Livin' up on the hill
Please come to L.A.
She said no
Boy, you come home to me
She said, hey ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down L.A. ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold
And there ain't nobody like me
I'm the number one fan
Of the band from Tennessee
of the man from Tennessee
Tennessee

his versions say "I'm the number one fan Of the man from Tennessee" not "band from Tennessee"

This song is rediculously awesome! I never really listened to b/c of the title... I thought it was kinda sketchy for him to sing a song about Boston when he's from Tennessee. I sure am glad I finally did give it a listen though.

It's a cover song..

the original is by jackopierce, and lead singer dave loggins
original by dave loggins in 1974!!!! Also sung by, Jackopierce (the group)!!! and David Allan Coe, Kenny Babyface Edmunds, Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney, etc.

It makes me wanna see this place: "Please come to Denver To see the snowfall We'll move up into the mountains So far we can't be found"

this song has a meaning that sticks out. Guy moves around girlfriend at home, he wants her to come with him she wants him home where he belongs. I love this song.

I learned to play this song on the guitar, i haven't seen my girl in almost a year, in which i have lived in 5 different places in 3 different states, i thought this song would be perfect for the next time i see her (she is in denver too...)

Dave Loggins version is the best, and it was so popular over the radio; it played often for many months. Great simple track that is self-explanatory, and written at a time when music was more romantic than it (for the the most part) is today. I've always loved this song.
