You know, ah umm
I'll try, I've been on the road almost twelve years
Since I've been away from home so long
So really it means a lot to me and it really straight my life right

Please come to Boston for the springtime
I'm staying here with some friends
And they've got lots of room

You can sell your paintings on the sidewalk
And by a café where I hope to be working soon
Please come to Boston
She said, "No, boy, you come home to me"

And she said, "Hey, ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down?
Boston ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me"
"I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee"

Please come to Denver to see the snowfall
Move up into the mountains so far that we can't be found

And throw "I love you" echoes down the canyons
And then lie awake at night 'til they come back around
Please come to Denver
She said, "No, boy you come home to me"

And she said, "Hey, ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down?
Denver ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me"
"I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee"

Now that drifter's world, goes round and round
And I doubt if it's ever gonna stop
And of all the dreams, I've lost and found
And all that I ain't got
I need someone to cling to
Somebody I can sing to

Please come to L.A. to live forever
A California life alone is just too hard to live
I live in a house that looks out over the ocean
There's some stars that fell from the sky
Livin' up on the hill

Please come to L.A.
She said, "No, boy, you come home to me"

She said, "Hey, ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down?
L.A. ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me"

"I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee"
"I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee"

Thank you Tennesse stadium, everybody
God bless you

Lyric Correctionhis versions say "I'm the number one fan
Of the man from Tennessee" not "band from Tennessee"

General CommentThis song is rediculously awesome! I never really listened to b/c of the title... I thought it was kinda sketchy for him to sing a song about Boston when he's from Tennessee. I sure am glad I finally did give it a listen though.

    To see the snowfall
We'll move up into the mountains
So far we can't be found"

General Commentthis song has a meaning that sticks out. Guy moves around girlfriend at home, he wants her to come with him she wants him home where he belongs. I love this song.

General CommentI learned to play this song on the guitar, i haven't seen my girl in almost a year, in which i have lived in 5 different places in 3 different states, i thought this song would be perfect for the next time i see her (she is in denver too...)

General CommentDave Loggins version is the best, and it was so popular over the radio; it played often for many months. Great simple track that is self-explanatory, and written at a time when music was more romantic than it (for the the most part) is today. I've always loved this song.
