Spare Me the Details Lyrics
Went up to a party just the other night
But three hours later and seven shots of Yager
She was in the bedroom with another guy
So don't tell me anymore
And I don't really wanna hear
About her feet all up in the air
Why must I be the one who has to know?
I'm not the one who messed up big time
So spare me the details if you don't mind
They think they're gonna help me open up my eyes
But the play by play makes me wanna lose it
Everytime you do it, man, it turns the knife
So don't tell me anymore
And I don't really wanna hear
About her feet all up in the air
Why must I be the one who has to know?
I'm not the one who messed up big time
So spare me the details if you don't mind
And I don't need to hear about how long it was takin'
Or how the walls they were shakin'
Missin' the tomorrow that we could of had
Running through my head, over and over
Things I never told her now just made me sad
stuck with that image burned into my brain
And it feels so dumb that I could ever trust her
When someone else fucked her, then walked away
So don't tell me anymore
And I don't really wanna hear
About her feet all up in the air
Why must I be the one who has to know?
I'm not the one who messed up big time
So spare me the details if you don't mind
Don't wanna know
(Spare me the details if you don't mind)
Don't wanna know
(Spare me the details if you don't mind)
Don't wanna know...

What I like about The Offspring is how they take such a sad incident and brighten it up. Hehe, love this song, meaning is just too obvious.

This song shows the versatility of a band which is better known for heavier punk/grunge.That they can play acoustic and make it (I believe) the best song on the album is a great effort. Meaning of the song is self-explanatory.

i agree this is the best song on splinter. I always thought if the offspring lightened up and did more stuff like this, and ska like "the worst hangover ever" they could definantly pull it off. whatever genre, the offspring rule! "im not the one who acted like a ho, why should i be the one who has to know?" I love that line..hehe......

As someone who has endured a similar misfortune (right about the sime time this album came out, great timing really), I can definetly understand the feelings this song is describing. I love the crescendo from just talking in "Now lying in bed" to the screaming in "someone else fucked her then I walked away!" You can really feel the anger welling in that verse, and it feels so good to scream along with him, especially if you're going through the same thing. Favorite lyric: "The play by play makes me wanna lose it, every time you do it, man, it turns the knife"

thorpey sais this song is fully sick
\m/ Rock On Offspring \m/

Song about finding out his girlfriend banged another guy at a party and how he really doesn't want to hear about what a whore she is.

ohh thanx magic man i didnt no! , lol joken but ppl dont need explaine songs like this cuz its so self explanitry. anyway im not a huge offspring fan but i think song is a gr8 pop punk song and the accoustic makes it ausom

Ha, yes this song would be the perfect complement to Self Esteem. It may even be about the same girl.

nothing like this happened to me, but this song is so fucking funny, I love it.
And...there's really no secret behind the meaning. The Offspring has never been a band of sublety.

it took me a while to find but i did in the end. heard it at a club and had it stuck in my head for ages. the coverband that sung it did it justice. i just reckon its a fun song. sad meaning but still fun to dance around to. as someone else said, this is the kind of stuff they should do more of!! it rocks!
