Has it occurred to anyone that this song is simply about the climate apathy that's ingrained in American culture? Thats what i believe this song is about.
Its a satirical song about living in a culture that doesn't give a shit about anything.

For those of you that don't know, Liam did a show back in the late 90's for MTV. The show was called Sifl and Olly. Rock n' Roll sock puppets. wikipedia has a history is your interested. In the show Sifl and Olly were friends with a rocker named 'Zafo.' I believe that is what Liam is saying, Zafo, not Zafron, or Zawfa or whatever ppl are trying to call him. Whether or not that is the Zafo that he is talking about in this song I do know.

Liam Lynch and Matt Crocco both made some crescent songs on the Sifl and Olly show, along with United States of Whatever. And it's Zafo, not Zafron or Zafwa. If you go to the official site, they say so. Sorry guys, I'm a sockhead. :P Generally, Liam and Matt's songs make NO sense, as they were each made in about 30 minutes. BRING BACK THE SOCKS! I like Ocean Bloom's comment. It shows a lot about the American pop/punk culture and viewpoint, especially at that time. Everything was "whateva". Even though the song was completely random and didn't mean anything when written, it says heaps that so many people identify with it.
