He's tired of seeing all the love rollercoasters surrounding him and ABSOLUTELY AND COMPLETELY appreciates the adoration and stability of his relationship.. Al Green is a luck man.. this is so classic. i love the lyric "you make me feel so brand-new" in almost any song (stylistics - "you make me feel brand new"). this person is so incredible that s/he makes you feel like you have a clean slate and anything is possible. not to mention the utter catchiness... sometimes my boyfriend and i just sing it, it's so great.

I think it could possibly be a dedication to the special someone whilst there are maybe going through a rocky patch - hence the title - also the section that goes:

That question is almost looking for reassurance. Its the sort of song you'd play to someone just as / before / after a marriage proposal.

al green is so cool. he's 1 of my favorite oldies singers. all his songs just have this upbeat tune to it, like you're strolling through the park on a pretty summer day.
