Brick House Lyrics
She’s mighty, mighty
Just lettin’ it all hang out
Ow, she’s a brick house
I like ladies stacked, that’s a fact
Ain’t holdin’ nothin’ back
Ow, she’s a brick house
Well-built together, everybody knows
This is how the story goes
That a woman needs to get a man, yeah, yeah
How can she lose, good stuff she use
36-24-36, what a winning hand
She’s mighty, mighty
Just lettin’ it all hang out
Hey, she’s a brick house
Oh, like ladies stacked, that’s a fact
Ain’t holdin’ nothin’ back
She’s the one, the only one
Built like an amazon
Make a old man wish for younger days, yeah, yeah
She knows she’s built and knows how to please
Sho’nuff can knock a strong man to his knees
Yeah, she’s mighty, mighty
Just lettin’ it all hang out
Hey, brick house
I like a lady’s stacked, that’s a fact
Ain’t holdin’ nothin’ back, ow
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, ow
Yeah, she’s mighty, mighty
Just lettin’ it all hang out
Ow, a brick house
Yeah she’s the one, the only one
Built like an amazon, yeah
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it, shake it
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it

Saying a woman is a brick house is like saying she's large. She's got that ghetto booty. More cushion for the pushin, to paraphrase Spinal Tap.
Odes to the big girls have been around forever.
Ghetto booties were not "in" back in the day of this song. "Stacked" (large breasts) were, however :)

wow... i thought more people would like this. well, it's a great funk song, and besides saying this woman is a "brick house" (whatever that means), it has no meaning.

36-24-36 really isn't a ghetto booty or cushion-for-the-pushin' body at all, and since he does say that in this song that discredits that. I always thought that calling a woman a "brick house" means that she's well-built - like a brick house is. I've gotten quite sick of this song actually, but it's good if you haven't heard it too much.
Only if she's 5' 3".
Only if she's 5' 3".

Some days, I just like to put this song on repeat for hours on end ; but, I'm weird like that. A brick house... a nice, sturdy woman. Nice rack, somewhat flat stomach (not a twig, but not a wad of cafeteria casserole; you know, that lumpy... chunky... yellow and brown... thing... that got scooped on your plate? That stuff was nasty... ) and some nice, child-bearing hips. Mmm, now that's what I call a woman. Death to whorish twigs! Gimme a woman I CAN'T break in half over my knee in a fit of passion!!
Oh that's romantic. LOL...break her in half over your knee :) I'd say your passion is on the dangerous side :)

The song has a cool tune, but I always thought it was singing about obese women, due to a phrase in a book where a boy is told he will get no girls because he is built like a 'brick shit house'.

Like stoolhardy said, A brick house is a well-built house. So to call a woman a brick house means that she's well-built, y'know the 36-24-36 hourglass figure. Great Bassline! This guy on YouTube does a great job with the bassline. Just copy & paste this in the URL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj4dvCFz440&mode=related&search=

Man, you guys all must be YOUNG. We older folks know the meaning beind this song. A brick house means she's STACKED...she's got large...well....you know :) And she lets them all "hang out." (Both hang out would be more appropriate:). Her well-rounded body (which was acceptable years ago before boy-like-skinny became all the rage) was much appreciated by the men. It made them weak in the knees and she got what she wanted. GREAT song from my childhood days. Never knew what it meant until I was a little older and heard it explained on the radio.

The meaning of the song and the term "Brick House" is very simple. It is an old 1970s expression for someone, usually a woman, who is "very well built" as is made very clear in the lyrics, "...Well put together..." or "...The lady's stacked..." or "...36-24-36...." If you can find a woman with these measurements, which is very rare, you will instantly understand what "She's a brick house..." means.
It should go without saying that an actual brick house (a house with walls made with only bricks and mortar) is a very solid structure and is very desirable, if well built. So in the same way, finding a woman you would describe as a "brick house" or "well built" is also very desirable woman.
This expression should not be confused "built like a brick sh*t house," which usually describes a very large and muscular man, who you would not want to be matched against on an American Football field or in a fight.

These measurements are those of your average Victoria's Secret model- although I realize the slang may be confusing, referring to a larger woman... Unless you consider Heidi Klum a larger woman, this ain't it! Maybe this is just confusion on men's part, though. In my experience, no woman likes to admit she weighs more than 130 lbs, and if she's 5'6" or taller and you can't see her ribs through her shirt, she's likely more . This probably extends to measurements too- most women wouldn't hesitate to say they're a 34C, when most aren't
