Unsolved Child Murder Lyrics
don't like to talk about it
Presumed dead
Unsolved Child Murder
You know they seemed au-fait
Cordoned off some wood
And gave the photo to a psychic
Presumed Dead
Unsolved Child Murder
If I die before my parents die
Didn't know that sundays
Could be useful after all
People can be cruel and spineless
Waiting for your mother
Rachel says she's married to a doctor
Presumed dead
Unsolved child murder
If I die before my parents die
Better move on - right away
Sod this town and people's pity
Let's get on with the nitty gritty
Presumed dead - unsolved child murder
When you're dealing with a master thief
Headlines scream
"He's been missing 2 weeks"
We can cure him
We can make him better
Raise him from the dead
Unsolved child murder
Raise him from the dead
Unsolved child murder

The perspective is constantly shifting in this song, which could be a Luke Haines "thing", as he does this quite frequently (e.g. Kidnapping the Heiress). The parents of the missing child, the perpetrator, the child as when he/she was alive, the media coverage, all whose voices are packed in this two-minute song. I find the last verse very powerful ("when we find him/we can cure him/we can make him better/raise him from the dead"). After Murder Park and Suburban Morning are two sequels of this song (or is this their prequel?) which offer two different endings to this story.

Pretty sure the lyrics in the first verse are...
...Since they dragged the lake you know they sealed our fate cordoned off some woodland, gave a photo to a psychic Presumed Dead Unsolved Child Murder
