This song could be on several levels.
Simply about not missing an oppertunity make sure you aim right, could relate to love or anything in partiular.
On another level it could be sex related, don't mifire ;) many conations about filling things up and loaded guns.
A superb song.
John Deacon is brilliance with a bass guitar!
Also, very straight, so the whole gun/sex thing, I'm not sure on!
I think it is about sex.
John Deacon has about 39 children, so he's always been very careful not to "Misfire".
It's the only one where John played lead guiter. I think it's great.
I didn't actually consider the lyrics any sexual before I heard that very many did relate this song to sex. And then I listened to it again, and yes, the lyrics kinda refer to having sex. And as John has so many kids, he hasn't misfired too many times himself either... ;)
Oh my god I love this song so much...John Deacon's compositions are always so happy...they just make you want to smile. Brilliant melody...anyway, I think this song is about how you only get one shot at love, especially when it says "don't you know honey, that love's a game. It's always hit or miss, so take your aim" and (one of the greatest lines of all time, in my opinion) "your gun is loaded and pointed my way. There's only one bullet, so don't delay."
Great song, however i think it's my least favourite of all of Deacon's' works.
Yeah, it's a very catchy song, possible one of Deacon's most underrated songs.
argh ur all dirty minded! lol. john was the most likely to write nicely about love not like that lil scamp freddie! but a wonderfull song, one of my favorites, john was very under-rated xxxxxxx
ahh, amy darling, you make me laugh. 39 children, thats a good one, you're cross prmoting for other queen songs in this article ;_). He actually has 6, but i suppose 39's close enough. And, yes, all your dirty suspicions are right, it's pretyy obvious what this song is about. It even explains it on wikipedia! Lol.
I really like this song and can't stop smiling when I hear the lyrics. Yeah, it's pretty obvious what it's about but the funny part is that it was John who wrote it! :D
