Spinal Tap – Heavy Duty Lyrics

The final (absolutely genius) solo is from "Minuet (3rd movement) from String Quintet in E, Op.13 No.5" by Luigi Boccherini. |

I agree with Quiffporn, the look on Michael McKeans face when the 'monument' comes down is priceless. |

Dream Theater – Sacrificed Sons Lyrics

great analysis, apprentice. slipped my mind the JLB is canadian, same as I keep forgetting he's actually KLB.
I only recently started listening to Octavarium again coz I got hung up listening to Systematic Chaos, but this is definitely in the top 3 off the album (along with 8V, and Root of all Evil) |

DragonForce – Fury of the Storm Lyrics

if you think herman li's a great guitarist - you need to see his 'Betcha cant play this' video on youtube.
Sure he can play scales really really fast, but so can Petrucci, Vai, Friedman, Becker, Gilbert, Malmsteen etc.
He's nowhere near as good as any of them. |

American beer is terrible, and you only get it in small cans.
But anyway, this song is fucking amazing - even better live. |

Mastodon – Mother Puncher Lyrics
|
It isn't actually about punching your mother. I don't know the meaning but in an interview Brent states that when they were thinking of a name for the song, Troy said 'Man, this song makes me wanna punch my mother!'
Hence the name. |

somnium got it spot on - its definitely one of the easier ones to figure out on the human equation, but it doesn't make it a worse song. Definitely my favourite off the album. |

Dream Theater – Octavarium Lyrics

ive just likstened to this song 5 times in a row, and i stil can't get enough of it. I would say that this is definitely my favourite DT song, however, I've recently been listening to 6DOIT (the song) a lot, and it's starting to grown on me.

Evanescence – Haunted Lyrics

evanescence arent a very good band. the riffs are really simple, OK she can sing - but the lyrics are terrible and the rest of the band has little talent at all.

Every Time I Die – Kill the Music Lyrics
|
Yeh OK they sound OK together on this but MCR are a terrible band with ZERO musical talent or ability - they play music thats popular at the time - as soon as Emo goes out of popularity (and it will, I hate to break it to you 13 year olds) only those bands with serious talent will survive. ETID have great amounts of talent.

Metallica – Orion Lyrics

I was lucky enough to see this at Download 2006 - although obviously not with Cliff - it was a great tribute and ensure me and my friends would be debating whether it was fitting to play it without cliff. Rob Trujillo did a great job IMO. |

Dream Theater – The Dance of Eternity Lyrics

I wouldn't say its pointless - theres plenty of instrumentals that wouldnt fit into a song - Erotomania, DoE - and besides, since all of DT are immortal, they can do whatever they want. |

Dream Theater – Octavarium Lyrics

Possibly the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Keyboard solo is absolutely brilliant, and when the last chord is hit, it sends shivers down my spine. It definitely rivals ACOS for my favourite DT song. |

Trivium – A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
Eggman - the song is indeed about an abusive father, but not Matt Heafy's. Matt cites his father as his biggest influence, and it was his father that bought him his first guitar, and drove the band to their earlier gigs.
On a side note, this is the best song on the album IMO. Travis' drumming is absolutely awesome. |

Best song ever, you stupid soup-head Soupy George.
Dont think it actually has a meaning apart from that everything is better when you have soup on your head. |

Roadrunner United – The Enemy Lyrics
|
I think this is about a criminal (probably murderer) that has been regretting all the crimes he has committed, and has now decided that he's just going to live with it, and isn't going to repress the feelings anymore.
Aside from that, this is the best song off Roadrunner United, IMO.
Coz it's got Mark Hunter on vox. |

Rage Against the Machine – Wake Up Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
I was never aware of a cover up of X's murder. I know it's obvious that the government would have liked to, but i thought it was just the NOI silencing him in case he spoke out about Muhammeds relationships.
Another thing, Jesus... is right in some ways. I wouldn't say communism was beautiful, but they are right in saying that people that wear Che shirts etc should at least know what he did. Ask most people with a Che t-shirt on if he was a communist they would say yes, whereas Russia actualy hated him because he was a "Maoist". Glad to have got this off my chest.
Everyone knows what this songs about, so I wont say anyting more.
Wake up and realise. |

this song is about war - all the emotions one would feel in a war
- the chorus is pretty self-explanatory
'Murder is Masturbation' refers to when you kill someone in a war, the feeling is that of masturbation - pleasure... |

FIRST! This is a brilliant song, full stop. I reckon its about getting over drug addiction. He's dug a hole that he can't get out of (drugs) and now hes pulling himself back out (givin up). Could be about giving up a load of things as well.

This one's obviously about drugs, there wasn't really a need to post that it's about drugs coz it's that OBVIOUS.
Apart from that, coola doola solo is the kick ass part of the song.

Million Dead – Breaking The Back Lyrics

SECOND!!! Yeh this song rocks. I love the way the lyrics dont stick to the bars as you'd expect. The pre-chorus part (Fresh faced, young dumb and tragically....) is absolute quality. Awesome band. Oh and Harry - only half of Million Dead are English. The other half are Australian (Bassist and guitarist) :>

All you people who claim to be "Punk" even Rancid isn't real punk. If you want real Punk, listen to the Sex Pistols, The Clash, New York Dolls, Suicidal Tendencies, Bad Religion or early Misfits stuff. THAT is punk music. Oh and about the talent stuff, try listening to JS Bach or if your an idiot and don't know who that is try Michael Angelo. Thats real talent |
