Eels – The Medication Is Wearing Off Lyrics
| 23 years ago
|
Well, I'm not clear on this for some reason, but maybe it's possible that the song *is* about his sister, and the line "break your mother's heart" is actually a reference to his sister killing herself, and his mother being heartbroken.
Well, wouldn't you be? |

You need to make a little bit more of an effort not to be retarded enough to disrespect the artist's intention, deckard.

Eels – Cancer For The Cure Lyrics
|
*ahem*
"It’s like we are looking for a cure against cancer, but in some way it’s the opposite entrance to it. Like healing a wound instead of changing things, so the wound wouldn't even arise. What happens when the cure for cancer gets cancer? If we find a cure for cancer we will just continue doing things that fucks the world up and make cancer inside. There is a reason for cancer, it will be replaced by something else" - Mr E |

The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics

Thank you, butterfingers. I was about to go ballistic on these people for saying "Everybody smoke pot." Argh.
When being interviewed once, John was asked "Everybody's got one what?" and he said "One asshole, one penis, one vagina, you name it." |

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics
|
I just had to say that the Beatles did not, in fact, do anything to instigate the entire Paul is Dead hoax - that perpetrated itself quite well on its own with the help of radio stations and rabid fans. Paul himself said "If I were dead, I'm sure I'd be the last to know."
As for Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, John Lennon did, in fact, gather the title from a drawing that his son, Julian, made of his friend Lucy. This is backed up by interviews with both parties, as well as the actual drawing, which depicts - surprise - his friend Lucy, in the sky, with diamonds. The lyrics are pure Through The Looking Glass imagery. |

AIDS doesn't fit, period. It was released in 1975 - a good TEN YEARS before AIDS came into the public spotlight, and SIXTEEN YEARS before he died. |

Britney Spears – I'm a Slave for You Lyrics
| 23 years ago
|
Britney = whore. She swears on stage, curses at little kids, dresses like a slut, fucks around, intentionally appeals to pedophiles, wears enough makeup to kill a herd of wildebeest (she looks quite plain without it), gets plastic surgery before she can even vote, and uses extremely suggestive dance moves on stage in front of millions of impressionable young girls. The only reason she's popular is that guys want her and girls want to be here. But they're not getting the real thing - just a facade that Britney has presented to make money.
The really sickening thing is that later she tries to pretend she's innocent and wholesome. |

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics

I have to agree with pkjun to a point. If Freddie said it wasn't about anything, then it wasn't about anything, but to me it sounds just like a simple story. A guy kills another guy and goes through the stages of denial. Meh.
As for all you morons who say that shit about AIDS... don't be retarded. AIDS wasn't even KNOWN until 1985. I mean, for chrissakes, that's like saying that a song written in 1950 is about the Internet. And gorgood especially... you offend me with your ham-fisted interpretations of the lyrics into bullshit sexual innuendos.
And Bo. Dude. Learn to speak English. Seriously. |

Yeah, this coming from a guy whose favorite band is Papa Roach.
gotterdam is right, and yet not right. The lyrics are posted as being hast, but supposedly (I don't know German myself) it is meant to be a double meaning between hate and have. It's spelled "hast" but pronounced "hasst". |

Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics
|
Uh.
Certain lines of this song were directly taken from a book about teenage drug use that was published loooooonng before The Wall was even conceived, let alone written. I can't remember the title of the book, but I found it in my school's library, and was quite shocked to see that there was a young boy quoted as saying, when describing his drug experience, "It's like, your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying. You just feel comfortably numb." |

"My sister had been in electro-shock therapy, that actually helped her at that time. After she died we found some things she had written, something the doctor had told her write. That’s the main thing in this song. I just wanted to make a tribute to her and show that understand how she felt." -E |

"Not nearly as pretentious as the title might lead you to believe. First I wrote a short story about a guy and a kid on the run who end up at a small town movie house called The Galaxy, where they watched Terminator 2. Then I based a song on it." |

The Beatles – All Things Must Pass Lyrics

This isn't actually a Beatles song... it only appeared on the Anthology because George tried a demo of it during a Beatle session, the other Beatles shot it down, and he went on to perform it for a solo album.
