Rush – The Spirit Of Radio Lyrics 13 years ago
One year I saw Rush in concert, the baseball teams were on strike.

They changed the lyrics in the song to "One likes to believe in the spirit of baseball."

The song is about the conflict between artistic passions and marketability.

Rush – Afterimage Lyrics 13 years ago
I have wondered two things about this song.

Is the line "Tried to believe but you know it's no good" a comment on Neil's atheism, and a desire to believe in an afterlife? As an atheist who recently lost a family member, my atheism was painful, but belief is not someone one can turn on or turn off.

I have also wondered if anyone else hears in the line "Skiing fast through the woods" as onomatopoeia, the representation of a sound by an imitation thereof? Listening, the "ski" and "fast" often remind me of the sound of skis on snow.
