Caveman – In the City Lyrics | 8 years ago |
We're in the city She came around at the right time And if you need me All this was made for a good time Wait just to see me I'll be around for a long time And if you need me All this was made for a good time It's like the ones who only know... Seems like the ones who always go And I don't want to know We're in the city She came around at the wrong time And if you need me All this was made for a good time It's like the ones who only know... Seems like the ones who always go I don't want to know I don't want to know I don't want to know I don't want to know |
The Smiths – Reel Around the Fountain Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[Loves_young_dream:13679] There's a lot of projection there, but we all project our thoughts and emotions onto each other. Withal, that's an impressive missive you've devised |

Islands – Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby Lyrics | 11 years ago |
don't call(or judge) me (as) who/what you think i am, it only reflects what you think of yourself (or whom/what you don't realise you are) |
Islands – Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby Lyrics | 11 years ago |
best entry here, imo, because users interpretation is stated as such; whereas i see most ppl attempting to get the "right" interpretation, entirely forgetting (perhaps simply not aware) that discourse on literature, especially lyrical in nature, is exclusively subjective. lyric meanings are not a contest or science experiment. any artist telling you otherwise might consider a different profession. |

fair retort throughout, until the very last line where it fails |
Counting Crows – Mr. Jones Lyrics | 12 years ago |
with respect to Adam's personal explanations of the lyrics, my personal rendering deals with applying the dictionary definition of "jones" jones /jÅnz/ Noun: A fixation on or compulsive desire for someone or something, typically a drug; an addiction. Verb: Have a fixation on; be addicted to. with this, a possible reading can be extrapolated where two personalites from the same person, one being the speaker in active addiction, the other being the real person, both staring at their lives, concerned with the future, and engaging in battle between who is more worthy of beauty and happiness. When we are in love; the book of love. When love is lost; the love of books. ~ W. |
Bob Dylan – Shelter from the Storm Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i guess having a command of language doesn't necessarily lend to having a command of voice. |
Bob Dylan – Shelter from the Storm Lyrics | 13 years ago |
however, to avoid being pointlessly pointless...i the progression on verses as loosely connected thoughts, perhaps a series of reflections, not necessarily related to one another, but with a consistent common thread of unconditional love. |
Bob Dylan – Shelter from the Storm Lyrics | 13 years ago |
all i know is that dylan always welcomed listeners to interpret his work as it suited the listeners own personal truth. he preferred things open and boundless. |
Zoo Kid – Out Getting Ribs Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i think that second last verse is much less tame than one would expect... "but girl just lean over and say you'll lay me down and pull me out you take my crown submerse the doubt" |
Washed Out – Belong Lyrics | 14 years ago |
the last few lyrics are: Don't try to fight It's right...It's right |
Animal Collective – My Girls Lyrics | 15 years ago |
the latest fancy things, fads, norms, etc. is what he makes reference to. and if you listen intently... "...Or to take part in the FRESHEST WAVE, But to provide for mine who ask I will, with heart, on my father's grave..." |
