The Black Angels – Sniper at the Gates of Heaven Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I got the lyrics the best I could, the lyrics weren't anywhere else.. I heard this song for the first time after the band was interviewed by local Austin radio station 101X. |
Shpongle – My Head Feels Like a Frisbee Lyrics | 15 years ago |
What happens when the drugs and dancing take you to a whole 'nother consciousness.. |
Shpongle – A New Way To Say Hooray Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Its about recurring hallucinations during DMT trips. |
The Black Angels – Young Men Dead Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I agree, about young men fighting. The whole song is full of things that a young soldier would be told by a superior, presumably an officer or maybe (metaphorically) by his country. I love the sound of the gritty guitar, it just seems to grind and roll its way through the entire 5 minutes |
The Black Angels – Manipulation Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Obviously about a sinister female figure, one whose beauty allows her to control men and get what she wants ("Manipulation"). "Red and green was the color of the money in her hand": This quote says it all :) |
Queens of the Stone Age – Skin On Skin Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Probably the dirtiest and kinkiest sounding song.. |
Shpongle – Once Upon the Sea of Blissful Awareness Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Just like the title states, being aware of the people you share this world with. Loving life, enjoying every moment you can. No matter where your journey takes you, just simply existing and letting things be. I can't believe nobody has commented this yet. I saw Simon on the Shpongle DJ set about 6 days ago... unfortunately he didn't play this. Unforgettable night though, I hope I have another opportunity to see him :) |
Queens of the Stone Age – 18 A.D. Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Some history: "But fate played a hand while he was in Amsterdam with the Trees and Homme met up with Dave Catching. Somehow they wound up with free studio time and wrote and recorded a song for the Roadrunner stoner compilation 'Burn One Up' (ironic as Kyuss virtually invented stoner rock but actually despised the term). The song was called '18 AD'. And after a brief dalliance under the name Gamma Ray, it was QOTSA's first ever song. "We recorded it with a giant stack of mushrooms, marijuana and ecstasy," recalls Catching happily. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Tangled up in Plaid Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I see the song as being about suicide and the longing to be truly free. I slipped, Didn't mean to do it that way. But i blew in on a whim, gone tomorrow? I'm gone today ^He didn't mean for his life to end this way, he acted on a whim. At any one time he could be gone because of a sudden impulse. Come, Lets play along and let each other lose A win would cause an alarm Don't matter to me Dont matter to you ^Let each other lose (die). I think the alarm refers to society and loved one's reactions to his death, but obviously it would no longer matter him. A self-inflicted wound, your Gift, Impeccable aim Can really clear a room All the bodies piled up in your way ^Pretty self explanatory. The "wound" is supposedly a gunshot, with "impeccable aim" seeing as you cannot miss when you are going to shoot yourself. I could keep you all for myself I know You gotta be free To kill yourself ^To kill yourself is, in a way, the ultimate act of freeing yourself. |

Queens of the Stone Age – River In the Road Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think mitzie pretty much nailed it. |
Electric Wizard – Vinum Sabbathi Lyrics | 15 years ago |
There is no way this song is about weed. It could possibly be about a bad trip on DMT or maybe even acid, but weed? Come on. |
High on Fire – Waste of Tiamat Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think it is obviously about the nuclear holocaust. Everything about this song is great. I love how the acoustic guitar interupts the bludgeoning riffs. Great song. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Mosquito Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song used to give me chills and make me a little scared. I love it when music has that profound of an impact on a person. As for the meaning, I think its pretty clear that it is about cannibalism. Thats how I see it at least. Amazing song. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Lightning Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Interesting fact: this is the only Qotsa song that Josh did not have a part in writing. |
Queens of the Stone Age – The Sky Is Fallin' Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is by far my favorite Qotsa song. Its just so beautiful and kind of intense in a way. This is MY interpretation: It is about growing and beginning to see flaws in society and in other people. This leads to a longing for something more, of which he doesn't know. Its about despair and how his life becomes "wasted" and "useless". I've lately begun to relate to this song, and I can't express how much I love it |
Electric Wizard – We Hate You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Its about a disturbed and hateful child. As they grow, so does their hate. The hate can't be contained anymore so he takes his father's gun and goes on a killing rampage. This is my favorite song by Electric Wizard. Its just so dark and heavy. |
Acid King – Silent Circle Lyrics | 15 years ago |
What a dark and disturbing song, I get chills everytime. I think its about a person who has given up the will to live, but wants to take people with them. |
Sleep – Jerusalem Lyrics | 15 years ago |
