Meat Loaf – Life Is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I'm not some dipshit psuedo-jackoff like the majority of the people on this site, but, I know a good song when I hear one. And this is from the first Meat Loaf album I've ever owned.. fucking LOVE this song! |
Dean Martin – Ain't That a Kick in the Head Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Alright, I LOVE this song. My interpretation of it can be summed up pretty quickly: love is amazing. I mean, the whole song, ol' Dino's singing about how this is so crazy, that it's like getting kicked in the head.. but not in a bad way. Like, you feel so amazing, so great, but at the same time, also know that it's almost insane that it could all work out this way. "So tell me quick, ain't love a kick, in the heaaaad~" Such a freakin' timeless song. |
The Black Angels – Young Men Dead Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It's about a revolution. Now, I know some of you are going to be thinking "nah, it's gotta be a war." Well, yeah, you ARE right. Don't forget that a revolution IS a war, but it's a war from WITHIN. More specifically, the soldier's mind as he's fighting to liberate his country from a tyrant.. but gets addicted to the killing, and simply becomes a mindless machine of death. That's my opinion, anyway. I choose to have a more complicated and personal view to the song rather than "WAR IZ BADZZZZ" like most of the other posters. (Note that I am a pacifist and dislike war, but I choose to not be a cock-hole about it. ^_^) Regardless, this is one of my favorite songs of all time. Say I'm wrong if you'd like, as I truly could care less. |
Avenged Sevenfold – Dear God Lyrics | 14 years ago |
You know, I used to think this song was about finding true love, but realizing your own inferiority, and letting go.. and coming to regret your actions. "We all need that person who can be true to you But I left her when I found her And now I wish I'd stayed" But, you know.. now, I think it's about being away from someone you love, and praying to God that He'll watch over her, because you can't always be there, ya know? ..That being said, I love and trust Catalina more than anyone else I've ever known, and I'm praying that the Lord can watch over her whenever I'm gone. You know, at times like right now. |
Reel Big Fish – Turn The Radio Off Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I gotta say, I love the version from We're Not Happy 'Till You're Not Happy. And the song's meaning is apparent: the music industry are tyrannical idiots who release the same trash over and over and over again, and it's all you flippin' hear on the radio EVER. But, I digress. |
Reel Big Fish – Skatanic Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Best song ever to listen to after a break-up. ^.^ |
Reel Big Fish – Skatanic Lyrics | 15 years ago |
...Listen to more of their albums, particularly their "Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album". Trust me. Worth the $20. (60 songs.) |
Buzzcocks – Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song equates to my entire life, pretty well. |
Thrice – The Artist in the Ambulance Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I have seen two different meanings for this song; first, the literal one--the character in question, the "Artist In The Ambulance" has been saved, and given a second chance at life. This could apply to one of many, many different scenarios, be it a crash, drugs, attempted suicide, or one of many others. The way I choose to interpret it, though, is that the "Artist" in question has been saved from his lifestyle, by someone, who means more to him than anyone else. "My world goes black before I feel an angel steal me from the Greedy jaws of death and chance, and pull me in with steady hands" I interpret the angel as someone who has saved him from a self-destructive life; perhaps a love interest, or something along those lines. However, he realizes that he has been saved from this lifestyle, yet that he had originally succumbed to it in the first place: "I hope that I will never let you down I know that this can be more than just flashing lights and sound" It's quite obvious that I believe the song is about getting a second chance; however, one can be saved from many things, by many things. One can be saved from their life by love, just as one can be saved from a crash by an ambulance and EMTs. That being said, here's the final line of my interpretation: "They've given me a second chance, the artist in the ambulance!" |
Avenged Sevenfold – Dear God Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It takes a truly skilled band that they can have thrash-metal style, hard rock style, and ...um...whatever genre you might consider Dear God--possibly Soft Rock? |
Avenged Sevenfold – Dear God Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I can really relate to this song.. (IN MY OPINION): The song's about someone who found the perfect person--the only one that matters in this whole world--and left them. The reason, from what I believe, is due to realization of inferiority; I.E., "She's so perfect, how can I ever be good enough..." ... And he regrets this decision. More than anything else in his entire life; he truly loved her, yet let her go, so he prays that the Lord will hold her--keep her safe, happy, etc--and moves on. |
Reel Big Fish – Drinkin' Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song's self-explanatory, if ya ask me. Guy gets dumped by his girl, and goes on a massive bender. .. Been there. |
Nirvana – Drain You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Missa, I'd have to say your version's pretty accurate... however... I honestly don't think the song is so much about drugs--I think it's more about an infection caused by a dirty needle or something, and that's where the comparison to love begins. "It is now my duty to completely drain you I travel through a tube And end up in your infection" Sounds like every single 'love' I've ever had... which could explain a lot about this song, technically. From what I've read of Cobain, he'd had many shitty experiences... so... "With eyes so dilated, I've become your pupil You've taught me everything Without a poison apple" ...I'm guessing this also helps to reinforce my point. (Not my idea of what the song means, but still opinionated): At first, I hated this song, because, well, it was Nirvana. But, this song's grown on me, and, it's been stuck in my head several weeks, now. |
Thrice – Child of Dust Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Much as I hate to lazily copy someone, I'm forced to agree completely with comeallyouweary. I doubt there's a better way to interpret the song.. regardless. The song is awesome, and as you hear the sound muffle; the dirt hitting the outside of the casket (or whatever they're using) ... man... this song's incredibly moving...... |
KoЯn – Let's Get This Party Started Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ah, man... I love this song. I'll be honest--I don't give a shit what the 'meaning' of the song is--it's just a good song...perfect fight music. |
Die Toten Hosen – Niemals einer Meinung Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'd like to say that it's like a punker love song, but... I honestly don't know. (Here's a rough translation): I show at the stars, but you see only the moon. I call and you stop running it off. Let me tell you what, then I can be sure that you have everything you know and terribly langweilst. When I say BLACK, do you immediately to red, whether it works or not, you try it the other way around. You think nothing of my friends, I can not understand you. No wonder that we are so well together as never sees. We will never agree, and if it's just about weather turns. Ask me why I need you. Every day, enough for us the smallest dispute loszugehen to each other. Ask me why not, I love you! If you like something, for me a long time, I can not ausstehn because's boring. If we are bad times, we are looking for comfort elsewhere, our compassion for one another has never been very large. We will never agree, and if it's just about weather turns. Ask me why I need you. Every day, enough for us the smallest dispute loszugehen to each other. Ask me why not, I love you! If I can have you, then I notice, I want you no more, is it the other way around, I fear that you do not belong to me. So that's always with us, it will never be otherwise would you's try again, I would immediately be. We will never agree, and if it's just about weather turns. Ask me why I need you. Every day, enough for us the smallest dispute loszugehen to each other. Ask me why not, I love you! Ask me why not, I love you! I can't fathom what loszugehen means... (my understanding of German is as great as my understanding of Latin--minimal, at best.) |
Die Toten Hosen – Hier Kommt Alex Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Great song, though, I still personally think Bonnie & Clyde and Niemals Einer Meinung are better. Regardless, everyone knows that the song already has references to A Clockwork Orange... hell, the entire album Ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau is a concept album on A Clockwork Orange. |
Rob Zombie – Dragula Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm guessing the meaning to the song is...uh... Rob Zombie's slightly insane? (Nah..) Seriously, though, it'd probably have to do with freedom or rebelling. Dunno why I think that. (Rob Zombie is awesome. Fact.) Oh, also--White Zombie was a band in which Rob Zombie was the writer, singer, and graphic artist. Rob Zombie is NOT a band. Rob Zombie is actually Robert Bartleh Cummings ... |
Burro Banton – Badder Dan Dem Lyrics | 16 years ago |
...Wow. I hate when people submit lyrics as they heard them from the song... (The lyrics insert is epic win.) An', I've no bleedin' clue what he's trying to say in this song... Hell, I don't think it HAS a meaning. Regardless; it's a damn good song. |
Thrice – Burn the Fleet Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I figured out what this song can directly apply to--it hit me during American Litt (which has more history than my American History class, by the way.) Well, I'm certain everyone knows how the national anthem of the United States was made by Francis Scott Key, while he saw the flames? I can see this song as being from the perspective of the British, or the Americans. It works well for either. |
Bad Religion – Submission Complete Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Fuck the freshman lectures and brandishments They just betray impoverished accomplishments The puppet masters fear originality They tighten up the tethers and they shackle your feet Submission complete!" What I personally think about this part here, is how in college, many times they don't care if you're telling the truth: the care if you spout back the bullshit they say. |
Coheed and Cambria – Devil in Jersey City Lyrics | 16 years ago |
darkbladex, You're right. I just re-read issue one of The Amory Wars. Oh, and Coheed & Cambria are not emo. The only genre that really describes them--vague as it is--is Progressive Rock. |
Coheed and Cambria – Time Consumer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's "The Amory Wars", don'cha know? I think this song's about Coheed, when he's faced with the task of murdering his own children, or facing Armageddon. |
Coheed and Cambria – Welcome Home Lyrics | 16 years ago |
... Dude. Every letter is capitalized. Anyway. Everyone who follows the Amory Wars knows that this song's about The Writer being essentially royally pissed at Erica Court for cheating on him. Though, I've been listening to this song recently, and after having just had a falling out with my now ex-gf... I love shouting along to the lyrics. ^^ You can actually feel the anger in the song, if you listen closely--if that makes any sense. @@ |
Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Being 4 and oblivious to music at the time, I didn't even know this song existed until this year. I honestly believe that this is one of those songs where it's not the meaning that matters. It's the song itself that matters. Dunno, just throwing out the idea from a jaded 17 year old mind that not every song has a meaning. |
Ash – evil eye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Hmm... Some would write it off as just a sinister girl messing with a guy.. The 'evil eye'--but, no. That's too easy for an Ash song. I believe the song is about about a girl who gives the guy in question a look--the 'evil eye'--and he falls for her. Later, he's destroyed, because he's left with nothing... But, like a fool, he chases after her. "She's mine." ... I dunno, just my two cents. |
Theory of a Deadman – No Way Out Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song has a meaning? Well, I'll be damned! Here's my opinion: the song is badass and helped to make Indigo Prophecy an even more kickass game. Anyway. The song's about spiraling downward, and you start to blame everything; "Your god ain't much of a know-it-all" for all the fuck-ups you've done. My two cents, anyway. |
Tenacious D – Tribute Lyrics | 16 years ago |
In my opinion, one of The D's best songs... And as far as I'm concerned, the song doesn't have much of a meaning except to be kinda funny.. And any meaning is kinda self-explanatory. :P |
Relient K – I So Hate Consequences Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"And I’m good, good, good to go I got to get away Get away from all of my mistakes" .. This is easily-related-to song.. It's easy for me to relate to, as I sort of ran from God, if you know what I mean. And friends. ..Er. Regardless, the song's great. |
Relient K – Be My Escape Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song, and while I know for a fact it's about rejecting the Lord, then accepting.. I also can easily relate this song to...say...someone who is trying to hide pain/sorrow from someone they're very close to. I dunno, that's just what it makes me think of. Great song. |
Less Than Jake – Econolodged Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The song means "I'm all I've got" .. There's no one in the world for ya. This song though is one of those with slightly depressing lyrics set to a nice rhythm.. [One of me favs.] |
