Pink Floyd – Echoes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
For the life of me I can not understand the middle part of this song. Why would anyone on LSD want to listen to sounds that might freak you out? Someone on Youtube said to me that the desire is to have a complete breakdown and "reassemble" one's mind afterward. Sure sounds risky to me. Some can't reassemble, old Syd for example. |
Len – Steal My Sunshine Lyrics | 15 years ago |
IT'S RIDICULOUS TO THINK THAT EVERY SONG HAS SOME HIDDEN MEANING. You know how hard it is to write a song that sounds halfway professional? This like most songs is just a bunch of words strung together that sound good with the music. Leave the hidden meaning song interpretations to the schizophrenics. |
Blur – Song 2 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The background of this song had to be inspired by "I Wanna Be Your Dog" by Iggy Pop and The Stooges. There's nothing new, in fact I say the "grunge" music of the 90s was just a continuation of hard rock from the 70s and early 80s. Maybe that's why no one young these days can write good music, they can't remember the music of the 70s as it was being released. Or it was the bad influence Comet Hale-Bopp. (Just a joke). |
Spin Doctors – Pretty Baby Lyrics | 15 years ago |
AS THE ABOVE MESSAGE SAYS. This is NOT by the Spin Doctors |
Spin Doctors – Mary Jane Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Obvious what this one is about. See "Sweet Leaf" or "Got to Get You Into My Life" (the latter one not so obvious). |
Rainbow – Catch The Rainbow Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Intro sounds like an homage to Little Wing. |
Focus – Hocus Pocus Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think you'd have to be psychotic to find meaning in this song. Some amazing guitar playing for the time though. Who else played like that then? Was ahead of his time for sure. And I thought posting the "lyrics" to Ten Foot Pole by ZZ Top was senseless and funny, this one tops that. |
Nazareth – Whiskey Drinkin' Woman Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Love this song. Love the entire album "Hair of the Dog", one of the best of all time. |
ZZ Top – Backdoor Love Affair Lyrics | 15 years ago |
dcat is right, it's about sneaking in thru the back door. |
ZZ Top – Heard It On The X Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The X was a 100,000 watt AM radio station that could be heard all over the country in the 60s and 70s after sunset. Wolfman Jack did his show on that station. According to Wikipedia the station was XERB. |
ZZ Top – Mexican Blackbird Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Not just any whore, a half Mexican, half Black whore. |
Elton John – Rotten Peaches Lyrics | 16 years ago |
On Madman Across the Water there's the two big hits that everyone's heard a million times on the radio "Tiny Dancer" and "Levon" (both excellent songs of course) but there's 3 songs on the last half of the album that are just as superb and they go together perfectly and they are "Holiday Inn" "Rotten Peaches" and "All the Nasties" in that order. The two radio hits and those three lined up together are what make the album so good IMO. |
KISS – Deuce Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Believe it or not, I came to the same conclusion and didn't read yours first. |
KISS – Deuce Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is the only good KISS song I've ever heard. I'll admit I haven't heard them all but they can't be any better than this one. Deuce= "two", "number two" = Shit therefore Deuce = Shit Substitute as needed. >>"You know your man is workin' hard He's worth a shit"<< |
The Police – Miss Gradenko Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I always thought they sounded like Gary Lewis and the Playboys doing this song. |
Cyndi Lauper – She Bop Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I was in a store once and heard this song being played as Muzak. Thought it was funny considering what it's about. |
David Bowie – TVC 15 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song demonstrates how much of a genius Bowie is (or was). |
Fleetwood Mac – Oh Well (Part 1) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is a masterpiece |
David Bowie – Blue Jean Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Whenever I heard this song on the radio the line that goes "One day I'm gonna get that faculty together" I always heard it say "One day I'm gonna get the fuckin thing together" |
Men Without Hats – Intro/Walk on Water Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Just read on wikipedia that Men Without Hats are Canadian. I'm stunned. I never once considered the possiblilty that they weren't either English or European. |
Men Without Hats – I Like Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"I Like" this song. No I love this song. |
Uriah Heep – Gypsy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is OK, "Stealin'" is a great song, this one isn't. It does sound like a low quality Deep Purple song. |
Uriah Heep – Stealin' Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ummagum, I have heard this song on the radio but very seldom. This is one of those rare gems that you might hear (if you're lucky) about once every five years on the radio. Like "Free Four" by Pink Floyd, and "The Core" by Eric Clapton. |
UFO – Chains Chains Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is about the only good song I've ever heard of theirs. I admit I haven't heard too many but all I"ve heard but this one has pretty much sucked. |
Butthole Surfers – Dum Dum Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Anyone who thinks this is one of coolest songs ever appearently hasn't heard very many songs. |
Grand Funk Railroad – I'm Your Captain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow. I kept hitting that "Add Comment" button and I thought nothing was happening. I see I was wrong. |
Grand Funk Railroad – I'm Your Captain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
You idiots. Everything has to be about drugs. It's about a captain of a ship that has gotten taken over by pirates. And one of them sneaked up behind him and is trying to strangle him. You think that would be fun? I don't. That's why the song was written. It's a dramatic story. |

Rush – Anthem Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Brat Moj - what's your alternative? " My guess would be Marxism. So many idiots these days seem to be going down that idiotic road. |
The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Quite possibly the coolest song that's ever been recorded. |
The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Quite possibly the coolest song that's ever been recorded. |
The Black Crowes – High Head Blues Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is the coolest song you've never heard. (Unless of course, you have heard it.) |
Melvins – Night Goat Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yes, this is the best song I've ever heard (so far from the Melvins) |
Procol Harum – Shine On Brightly Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song. |
Duran Duran – Hold Back the Rain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The original is much better than the crappy remixes that you get on all recordings today. If you can find the original that's the best. It has guitar playing not heard on the remixes. And one of the remixes cuts the song in half. You know it's the original if has a muddy guitar chord hit after the first chorus at 1:32.. |
Yes – And You And I Lyrics | 17 years ago |
PS to above OT the intro to the styx song is pretentiously called "Prelude 12" |
Yes – And You And I Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Slightly OT There's three songs from the 70s that have such similar intros that they are sometimes hard to tell apart. This one "And You And I" "From the Beginning" by Emerson Lake Palmer and "Suite Lady Blue" by Styx. (intro not included on some downloads of this song) |
Rush – Jacob's Ladder Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yes I highly recommend this song. One of Rush's best. |
Rush – Circumstances Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I like the song "Hemispheres" better. But there's no page for it. Hemispheres what a catchy song. Anyone agree? |
Soundgarden – Burden in My Hand Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is about a wife beater who murdered his wife in a fit of rage. Sometimes things are just that obvious. Regardless of what it's about it's one of greatest songs ever written IMHO. A future classic. |
Genesis – Tonight, Tonight, Tonight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Before the song was released as a single the intro to this song was used in a beer commercial. Michelobe I think. Sounded like the coolest song. Then when I heard the song it was a disappointment. Alcohol is a drug, so if the song is negative about drugs it's kind of ironic that it was used as I said. |
Ten Years After – I'd Love to Change the World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I used to think this song mocked liberals too but have come to believe it's saying TO tax the rich to poverty to feed the poor. (the politically incorrect stuff about dykes and fairies reflects the lack of political correct dogma in the late 60s) Why don't rich liberals lead by example? Give most of their money to the poor or the IRS. Of course they never will. In my opinion rich liberals are more interested in taxing the middle class into oblivion in order to prevent them from getting rich. How can you feel special when just anyone can become rich? Rich libs who don't have high incomes don't pay very much taxes. They've got theirs. |
Melvins – Night Goat Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Good song. Suberb song. Highly recommended. Go ahead, do it. Considering their politics I'm sure they wouldn't object. Know what I mean? Unless they're all talk, No THAT couldn't be.... |
Primus – Nature Boy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't get this song. I can't say I like it. Someone said it was better than Pachyderm but I say that's bullshit. |
Primus – Southbound Pachyderm Lyrics | 17 years ago |
A superb song. The video is on Yahoo Music. Check it out. |
The Flaming Lips – She Don't Use Jelly Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Hard to believe the kid in this video is the sleazy old guy of today. And this song wasn't done all that long ago And he's not much older than I am. I'm depressed. I must be a sleazy old guy too. |
Spirit – Nature's Way Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think it's about a cough. Lung cancer. |
