The Beatles – Revolution 9 Lyrics 18 years ago
This is just John and Yoko messing around with sounds, they did a lot of this in the late 60s, not all of it made it onto a record though. This is what makes the white album interesting though. THe group was not getting along at this point, barely speaking to eachother in fact. As a result they were all being very stubborn in their attitude towards this album - they all wanted every song they had written to be on the white album. That's why, A - this is by far the longest Beatles album, and B - some of the songs are brilliant while others just seem too far out there and unmarketable.

Buffalo Springfield – For What It's Worth Lyrics 18 years ago
One of my all-time favourite songs. It is about the sunset strip riots, but I think it has a different meaning. It's strange for me because I'm 20 years old, and i'm a conservative, but if I had been 20 in 1967 like my dad was, I would have been a total liberal. Guess it goes to show how times have changed. I truly envy the people who were young in the 60s and early 70s.

Billy Idol – Mony Mony Lyrics 18 years ago
Tommy James was about to record this song but he needed a chourus and he looked out the window and saw MONY which was an acronym for an insurance company, he thought it looked good so he threw it in. Apparently it was completely random. This version however, is ok, but it doesn't compare with Tommy James and the Shondells version at all. It's got some sexual inuendo in it, but mostly it's just a dance track.

Tommy James And The Shondells – Crimson and Clover Lyrics 18 years ago
Just to add to what I wrote above this. I just bought TJ&S anthology earlier today and in the booklet Tommy James explains that when he was young he liked to express himself using colours, and red and green happened to be his 2 favourite colours. Apparently there is no sexual meaning to this song.

Tommy James – Draggin' the Line Lyrics 18 years ago
It's obviously about cocaine and drugs in general. I love walking down the street and listening to this song on my headphones. Even though it's not the intention, I kind of see dragging the line as going through the daily grind, and just doing your own thing. And the sound and flow of the song reflects it perfectly.

Tommy James And The Shondells – Mony Mony Lyrics 18 years ago
How can there be no comments for this song? This version is so much better than the crappy Billy Idol version, this song is nothing without Tommy James' voice. This song's obviously a very sexual song, in fact it's what the entire song is about.

I love this band. This sogn just gives me such a great feeling. I never really took a sexual connetation from the song, but it's definitely a possibility.

The Zombies – She's Not There Lyrics 18 years ago
One of my favourite Zombies songs, just behind time of the season and tell her no. It's such a haunting song by an extremely underrated band.

Eagles – The Last Resort Lyrics 18 years ago
This song isn't anti-Christian at all. If it did they would no longer play it because 2 both Don Henley and Joe Walsh are born again Christians.

It's about the over commercialization of everything, how no one can appreciate the natural beauty of something, and what is once beautiful is then raped for profit. It's a commentary on basically the capitalist way of life, not condemning it but simply pointing out what happens, and human nature.
