Saul Williams – List of Demands (Reparations) Lyrics
| 15 years ago
|
You guys have missed what I said.
His "selling out" resulted in an intriguing sample, exported and distributed, which directly motivated a seeking of him. A catalyst for the edification of those that care to bend an ear, and the more listeners you have the more impact you have. Without listeners, no matter who you are, or how profound, a message is merely masturbation. Intention is meaningless, only results are real, and that is because intention is subjective, and ambiguous. Results are not by the very essence of what they are; they are what HAPPENS.

T. Rex – Mambo Sun Lyrics

This is the first T.Rex song I have ever heard, other than that damn Bang A Gong, anyway, I prefer to think of this as the first because it blew my fucking mind. This is probably the smoothest, coolest, thing I have ever heard. |

Saul Williams – List of Demands (Reparations) Lyrics
| 17 years ago

If it weren't for selling out to nike, I don't think I would have given a shit about Saul. I hear the song and here I am, and it might have just helped change my life. Stuff has been going down lately, it's been mixing around in my head, and through this song, and coded language, and the other research I've been doing Saul just kindly informed me it might be worth it to pay attention and start giving a fuck. So if he's got a message he's got one more listener, and Rob, if you don't got listeners, you don't have a message, not really. |

Jugheadchad - i think *you* should do some research, and show it to me, considering that you're so passionate on the subject, and I am not. |

Danzig – White Devil Rise Lyrics

I picked that up immediately, binormal. Some days, after trying to be unprejudiced and progressive, I'll just get pissed when some punk starts going on about how racist white people are.
Monologue: Shit, man. Do you not hear your own words? I'm tryin' here, what about you? If thats not right, what do you want me to do instead? fucking lynch you? you're making me want to. |

Dexys Midnight Runners – Come On Eileen Lyrics

I was watching some interview footage. Like a few said before, it's about his childhood friend Eileen, when they were about 13 sex got into the relationship, the rest is predictable. Must be kind of nice, I never stayed in one place long enough to make one of those longterm childhood friends. |

David Bowie – I'm Afraid of Americans Lyrics

Johnny wants Tada123 to use spell check.
Watching this video, I can't help but make a connection between this guy running around, and seeing all these imagined threats and the way washington and media like the fox lies network talks about all of these threats to america, and the war on terror and all of that flim flam, to frenzy people up into blind patriotism, nationalism and xenophobia, and to encourage them to throw money into gas, the war, and stupid little plastic flags. and to listen to george the little sheriff spout about how god wants him to be president, how god loves america. how the war is a crusade against evil men. it's bullshit. america died somewhere around 1950 |

The Wallflowers – One Headlight Lyrics
|
It's about jake getting a used truck, but it's such a lemon ("Just like a beat-up truck. I turn the engine but the engine doesn't turn") he just flips out and kills a girl. It's LIKE a beat-up truck because it IS one. And when the girl is dead he's still pissed so he wants to burn things! The maze of ugliness and greed is the better business bureau claim that this one dude ripped him off! and the song is called one headlight, because the truck is so crappy only ONE HEADLIGHT works!

I was suprised when no one had this up already. This is perhaps the greatest Eric Burdon has ever sounded. I love this song, and it is has the most delicious tendency to get stuck in your head, so you spend a whole day in relaxing outlaw groove. |

J Ralph – Kansas City Shuffle Lyrics

It's indistinct. Sounds kind of like yowling.
I think the song, is about a very slickly orchestrated revenge, but as it is always alledged it doesn't fix anything. Quite the contrary it feels like it has erroded the orchestrator: "Revenge like this, never sweet- You've got yourself a long ride home" |

Smash Mouth – I Just Wanna See Lyrics
|
I think it's about slowing down, and watching to world, and relaxing. Stopping to smell the roses is perhaps another way to put it. Life is too damn fast paced; especially now with digital everything "on demand" bullshit. Nobody realizes there is a world around them anymore; they are too busy working hard for that next promotion, or whatever else they want, and really, that shit is meaningless. You can get tons of promotions, get that flash car, that huge house you spend so much money on making pretty, and a tree in the woods still has it beat. |
