One of the finest B&S songs... not a gay song actually, but it works as far as Stuart leaves it open to interpretation. This is about an open relationship. Two friends, maybe ex lovers, who decide they should see other people, but remain together. You can go out with someone else, but you keep coming back to the one you love, to the one you feel secure with.
Hand over my mouth - to restrain from kissing her. A hand over the window - to cover themselves from view. A hidden moment of two people cuddling cause the sexual stress has become stale, and still there's feelings.
The bittersweet harmonies blend perfectly with the mood, it's just a genius song. |

I believe the song speaks of losing control, being in love, and enjoying it. Disconnecting the dots would mean giving into chaos, disordering a figure, setting the dots loose. Still a game though, the lunacy of love. Poppet is such a cute nickname. |

I can't find any actual reference to a suicide. Lyrically, it's the classic story, two persons from different backgrounds find tragedy in a love which is not meant to be. This by itself is a downfall and a tragedy, at which thw song hints. It`s definitely not a happy story, and one that will end badly, but not necessarily in death. |
