Dire Straits – Once Upon A Time In The West Lyrics

i dont think its about the wild west as such but possibly uses the wild west as a metaphor for londons west end. there are ample clues in the song telling us that hes talking about modren life; sunday driver, driving test, driving on the grass.
see also the song wild west end from same album |

The Frames – Fake Lyrics
|
this song is about damien rice. at first listening one might think he is addressing a girl whos left him for someone else but this is just a clever guise and really hes addressing the fans who now love damien rice instead of him.
if your reading this glen hansard (from the frames) and youre thinking of denying this, pause for a moment and think. maybe you think this is not what you meant but if you look deeper into yourself i think youll see that on a subconsious level it actually is.
"and it was my mistake kicking in his door" is refering to how you brought damien rice to the limelight in your program voices from a room giving him lots of publicity you later regretted.
i dont think you should "forget us" |

Damien Rice – Volcano Lyrics
|
i think its about unrequited love. she is crazy about him but he is trying to tell her in subtle ways that he doesnt feel the same. "what i am to you, is not what you mean to me"
and when he says "give me miles and miles of mountains and ill ask for the sea" hes saying nothing she ever gives him will ever be good enough. |

VESPER TEEN, i like your simple and honest to god interpretations of songs. at least you can form your own opinions without having to "research" what someone else says a song is about. |
