i noticed recently that this song is very similar to the Beatles' "Get Back". It has kinda the same idea and even some of the lyrics are the same...."High heel shoes low neck sweaters" i dont think this is a coincidence cause Spoon seems to have been influenced by the Beatles in many ways. |

Holy shit this is THE best song ever made. Its got so many different styles going on in it, its great. I love the line "Mama just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead". tis cool. Its prolly about his bad luck and how the person in the story feels trapped with no way out cuz he has to take the blame or brunt for something someone did. |

I always kinda thought this song was about lennon asking people to "come together" around hippies and their flower power stuff. All the lyrics kinda describe a unkept hippie with dreds and a few drug addictions. "...you got to be free", all that kind stuff seems like a description of a sterotypical hippy. But the underlying idea is peace and harmony. |
